NFL perpetual 2020 regular and postseason non Bears thread

Vikings' offensive gameplan of targeting whoever Malcolm Jenkins is trying to cover is working out well.

Yeah, but their defense can't stop Kamara from scoring.

i wish they didn't take him out previously and let him score 7. Vuck the Fikings

Could have been 8 if he catches that td throw.

So the last time someone had 6 rushing TD’s was 1929. That stat shouldn’t even be valid. The forward pass wasn’t even made legal in the NFL until 1933!

On sorta kinda a related note, I was at the game when Howard Griffith scored 8 TD's for the U of I in 1990. That was fun.

I was at that game too! SIU had a lead in the second quarter if I remember correctly. I think they were up 17-3. And then Howard took over

Tampa with 410 yards of offense in the first half

I absolutely do not want to see them in the playoffs. Good Brady or bad Brady, that team is stacked.

The throw Fitzpatrick completed tonight with his helmet being twisted off...like, how is that even possible? The ultimate no look pass.

He said he knew the coverage and thought he saw it developing right, but just threw it blind.

I’ve got a buddy in FL who was just wanting to see solid performances this year building towards next year. It’s been an unexpectedly fun year for them. Plus, with the Pats a shell of their former selves suddenly that division is more fun as a whole.

They did. I’m not what is worse, losing to the Jets in the playoff hunt or beating the Browns in the draft pick hunt.

In the current 4 way tie at 10-5 for the 3 AFC Wildcard spots, the current odd team out is Indianapolis, as they lost to the Browns and Ravens and have a worse conference record than the Dolphins. So if all 4 teams win next week, Indy is out.

Week 17:

Dolphins @ Bills

Ravens @ Bengals

Steelers @ Browns

Jaguars @ Colts

I'm interested to see if teams (Steelers, Bills) play for seeding with no byes other than to the top seed. If Buffalo wins tomorrow, they and the Steelers really don't have much to play for. They both clinched their division. They both clinched being on the opposite side of the bracket of KC. Only incentive is to have a home game with no fans in the divisional round.

But the interesting part, is Buffalo and Pittsburgh play Miami and Cleveland, respectively, and can determine who makes the playoffs. I don't think there's a scenario where Buffalo can play Miami in the 1st round, but Pittsburgh and Cleveland can definitely match up in back-to-back weeks.

Edit: I guess if there is a tie at 12-4, the Titans get the tiebreaker over Buffalo.

Yup, the Colts could potentially be the 2nd team in the last 30 years to go 11-5 and miss the playoffs. Every other year of that only had 6 playoff teams. The Dolphins miracle last night really hurt, and then blowing the big lead today was another gut punch.

As Raw said, it all depends on who tries in week 17. If the Steelers and Bills play, I am pretty confident in at least 1 of them winning (or the outside chance of the Titans blowing 2 games). If they don't try, it's going to be really hard for the Colts to get in.

Why in the hell are the Panthers playing a competitive game? Think they’d be tanking at this point

Panthers really have no incentive to tank. They could take a QB, but still should be in Zach Wilson range (if he doesn't go 2). But since they don't necessarily NEED to take a QB, they won't be pressed to move up. They can sit back, take Wilson, the best lineman, any defensive position, or Kyle Pitts.

Can't wait to see the NFC get a 10-loss division winner and an 8-8 wildcard team in while the AFC has an 11-5 team sitting at home.

They had no incentive to win either. They went from drafting 3rd to 9th with that win.
