Q might have blown up anyway but it's too bad Zobrist can't throw to second competently.

Another opportunity to make up a game tonight. Need to figure it out quickly

I’d worry more about the team that’s gonna be 1 GB our playoff spot if we lose tonight

Eh, their pitching sucks and they have to have 6+ of Arcia, Perez, Spangenberg, Gamel, Grisham, Austin, Shaw, Pina or broken Cain/Moustakas in the lineup the rest of the way. Grandal and Thames are their only good offensive players .

When you are talking about an 17 game sample it’s feasible for the Brewers without Yelich to outplay the Cubs by 1 game, especially since the Cubs have basically been a .500 team since early May.

I understand people getting pissed at me for declaring game over in the 2nd inning but this team just doesn’t come from behind this season, especially on the road. Even all the exciting moments they’ve had have come from walkoffs in a low scoring tie game or the occasional back and forth affair. There’s no comeback magic like Cubs teams of the past.

Cubs are 8th in OPS in total.

Cubs are 11th in OPS when trailing.

Cubs are 7th in OPS when they are within 4 runs.

Cubs are 9th in OPS when they are within 3 runs.

Well on June 1st the Cubs were a half game back of the Brewers, so what does that say about a team that again, just lost a top three player in baseball.

Rizzo’s ability to pick it is unreal.

It is, you can see Nico’s arm isn’t the greatest SS there. But he seems perfectly passable, it also was a smart play to short hop that vs trying to load up and sail a ball.

And again over a 18 game span its perfectly feasible that the Cubs could be outplayed by the Yelich-less Brewers by 1 game. When you get down to that few games you open up the possibility of a lot of randomness. Especially when those 18 games for Milwaukee include 15 games against the Marlins, Padres, Pirates, Reds and Rockies (other 3 vs STL).

If there were 60 games left, yeah of course the Yelich injury would basically be the end of the road for Milwaukee.
