I will no longer have to give my uncle that is a fan of all things related to Iowa basketball how he is doing with the Bulls.

As of Thanksgiving weekend by brother in law (an Iowa State fan) was still pissed that he's going to end up at some random other University now after the Bulls were done with him.

Timings seems weird to me. Tanking for this season seems to be going well and he hasn't exactly had a healthy squadron.

I think they're all terrible (gar, pax, hoi) but I don't get this.

This seems like 1 step forward 1 step back, hopefully GarPax are getting some heat from above and this is their hail mary.

The wrong people got fired. I'm not saying Fred is some awesome coach that deserved to stay, but I don't know what he has done this year so far to get fired. I haven't really watched the Bulls all year though so I could be missing something.

I don't follow the Bulls much at all, but how are GarPax still around? How many coaches do they get to hire/fire?

This is Boylan's second stint as coach, right?

No, this interim coach is Jim Boylen, different from the Jim Boylan that was interim head coach 10 years ago.

Is this the worst run organization in pro sports?

It's definitely on the short list, but I think the Bulls are safe from the top spot as long as the Oakland Raiders, Cleveland Browns, Sacramento Kings, Miami Marlins, and probably a couple others I'm forgetting are still around.

6 championships the last 28 years, best record in the league with Rose recently, got rid of Butler at the right time, drafted pretty well for where they were at, and have been at the top of league attendance total for years. Weren’t winning in the East with LeBron. The Bulls have a solid core right now too.

Disagree, the Bulls are worse because they keep the same horrible people in charge at least the others try and flip the script usually unsuccessfully.

There are some good candidates like Finch but I doubt they'll do it right even though their history of selecting coaches is slightly better than their roster construction which isn't saying much.

I think the statute of limitations has expired on the jordan era bulls success counting in the plus column for the current management

How about the other team that Reinsdorf owns? The one that has never made the playoffs in back-to-back seasons.

Considering current management had zero to do with the Jordan era Bulls, they shouldn't get credit for it at all just because they happen to run the organization now.

I'm not sure the Bulls have a solid core, either. Lavine and Parker play no defense, Cam Payne is still a thing the organization refuses to admit mistakes on, Valentine is useless, the entirety of their solid core is Lauri and Wendell, having spent 10 years building a team of ball first PGs and stretch 4s with no cohesive plan and wandering aimlessly through FA every summer assuming players will want to play here because Jordan 25 years ago.

This move is dumb. I'm not sure whether Hoiberg is a good coach or not. And I think that it's very fair to have this opinion. First, he was given a roster that was damn near the opposite of what he'd want for his offense. Then, they went young and to this point, Lauri and Dunn played ONE game this season lol. Portis and Valentine have played extremely little and none.....

So, how do you judge him fairly? My gut tells me he's nothing special, but it's still dumb to get rid of him at this point. Especially since it seems like they're doing it to win more games right now, which is just horsefeathering stupid.

Parker is useless, but LaVine is a very solid piece, even without the D. To me, it's him, Lauri, Wendell, and Dunn is 50/50, need to see more out of him to know. That's pretty solid, based on length of rebuild time.

umm if you build a roster that doesnt fit your coach, you get rid of the coach 100 percent of the time.

No, they've got the roster more set up for him now. They HIRED him with a roster that wasn't a fit at all.
