im actually not meaning to criticize the cubs because 95 wins is like ... what can you even say? I would have taken that with a healthy team. It's just the constant "well here's the thing, the cubs are good and the brewers are actually bad. ok they're not bad but they aren't good. ok they're good now but they're not real good and we're better. ok actually now we got 2 hit at home and lost the division OK NOW THEY"RE BETTER THAN WE ARE SORRY GUYS" that's obnoxious and wrong.

Yeah, that sums up the 2018 regular season perfectly. It was frustrating and mind-boggling and the Brewers played much better than anyone would have thought.

For one Kris Bryant has been a shadow of himself, still playing hurt, that alone made a big difference. As Brewer fan you want to count on that happening again along with Cain and Aguilar playing out of their minds next season? Both will regress next season.

that's super good looking at 2019, especially if they sign harper or machado. unfortunately it does us no good right now despite the fact that everyone said the same horsefeathers last year (oh we'll just sign a starter and a bullpen guy and then we'll get heyward fixed and we're all good.)

Bryant didn't need any fixing ala Heyward, he was also on his way to a damn good season until he got hit in the head.

and while you guys were jerking yourselves off in june about "vaunted run differential" or whatever you totally missed the big picture. on the one hand your self-delusion probably made the games more bearable so there is that

the cubs won 95 games while having a thousand things go wrong you psychopath

I have a feeling the next Cubs-related thing worth being happy about will be the firing of Chili and Hickey. Not getting my hopes up about Maddon, but Theo seems unstable, so he’s more likely to do it than most.

And even after that they needed like a dozen different ridiculous things (STL falling on their ass on the way to a tying run, a 3-run wild pitch, Castellanos literally handing over the winning run) to happen to force this game. It was meant to be for them and that's just the way it happened.

Yes, that's the only reason we lost the division. Not that we scored 3 or fewer runs in 15 games in September. Not that we gave up 5 or more runs 10 times in September. Not that we stopped hitting home runs. IT'S JUST REALLY ALL CHRISTIAN YELICH GUYS

i mean stop acting like the brewers ended 70-0 and yelich hit .874 or something.

they played well, the cubs didn't, ergo the brewers caught the cubs. i don't know why it seemingly makes people feel better to say the cubs didn't horsefeathers this up.

I don't think they'll fire Hickey. The pitching has been good enough that you can justify keeping him. I hated him as much as anyone for the Chatwood saga, but he seems to have done alright with most of the staff.

Quintana had a good game, Chavez was outstanding, and the rest of the bullpen didn't completely horsefeathers the bed... Once again, the pathetic offense was what cost the Cubs the game. Taking Hader out of the picture, there is no excuse to only come up with 2 hits against the rest of those pitchers.

Hey, I think it's cool that they made you even care about a regular season game again.

yeah, stop being unreasonable about this and look at it logically. the brewers won because GOD wanted them to.

The Cubs knocked out the Pirates and Cardinals in 2015 and then won the WS in 2016 on the back of a guy who had a 5.46 career ERA at age 27 when we got him.

We don't get to cry and moan because Yelich had a good month.

i tried to warn you idiots but noooo "lol schoop what is stearns thinking lol the brewers are trash lol look at the run differential"

anyway all we have to do is beat colorado* (please be colorado) tomorrow and everything is essentially fine. sucks watching the brewers win on your field in a game you didn't even really need to play but whatever, just win one game and our {entering david mode} win probability for the playoffs or whatever is not meaningfully different than it would have been had we won today. Plus lester is going
