Nobody in that bullpen can suck it up and pitch an inning to keep the star closer available tomorrow rather than pitching him in a 6 run game?

By the time Baez hit the HR he was probably hot enough that there’s not much difference in sitting him down. Let him slam the door and you still have everyone else for tomorrow.

Plus off day Monday so he'll get at least two days off before he pitches again.

My power flickered while Farrell was still pitching, which reset my DirecTV box so I said horsefeathers it and headed to the gym. You can all thank me. Heard the almora hit just before shutting off the car.

So everyone besides Wilson, Farrell, and Morrow must have been totally unavailable. Joe didn't want to get stuck using all three in a tie game. Frustrating to watch unfold but understandable in a regular season game.

Still should've made a roster move and/or let Montgomery pitch longer though.

Definitely should’ve managed Montgomery better and made a roster move before the game if that was the case.

I’m guessing Duensing was available for an inning too but you’re not going to bring him in to pull your long man.

Is Farrell that good of a prospect that they need to watch his innings??? horsefeathers it. I could care less if he pitched until his arm fell off. They guy should be lucky he’s getting the high, New York per diet for a few days.

The Cubs do lead the league in hitters left in scoring position (which is actually a good thing, as they lead the league in batting average and on base percentage) and, I have no idea what the 'clutch' stat means, but they are the worst in the league in being 'clutch' https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=0&type=3&season=2018&month=0&season1=2018&ind=0&team=0,ts&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=11,d

all of this bodes well because all this crap will balance out and they'll continue to pound people

I don’t mean that he should’ve pitched the last inning. I’m referring to the hand wringing earlier about how many pitches he’d thrown.
