it's hella lame to enjoy another fanbase's suffering, especially given that we're cubs fans, but im just hella lame enough to do it

I'm not sure I even want to watch this game. These past three games have been as painful to watch as any I've ever seen.

Facing a guy in Chatwood who's struggling with command, and he's through 5 innings at 60 pitches.

I have to think that being shut out by the same team 5 times in a single month would be an MLB record at least in the modern era. I can't imagine any team has ever been shut out 6 times by one team in a month.

That'll do it. A two run lead is insurmountable for this team.

Way to show them we are tough guys and hitting Rizzo, which led to the run. We showed them.

That's it. I'm not watching another Brewers-Cubs game this year. Certainly not a weekend series game. Life is too short. I'll spend my Sunday doing something more productive. Like cutting the lawn with a weed clipper.

I've seen alot of bad Brewers baseball in my lifetime, but I have never been more angry about a four game stretch than I am about this Cubs series.

What a sad, pathetic, second rate team and organization

check out the guy in the replies talking about having bragging rights over dead cubs fans

On Reddit they are bragging that they have better attendance than the Cubs. Nevermind that the weather has been horsefeathers. Nevermind that they have a dome. Nevermind that 4 of their home games were full of Cub fans.

I'm pretty sure Miller Park holds a good 4,000-6,000+ more too

Just for funsies

The Cubs also blanked the Brewers in two earlier games in April, making them the third team to shut out the same team five times in one month. The others: The Washington Senators shut out the Cleveland Naps five times in August 1910 (Walter Johnson had two of those) and the Boston Americans shut out the St. Louis Browns five times in June 1903 (Cy Young probably had one or two of those). None of those team names even exists now and neither do two of the teams.

In other words, it was a long time ago.

I can worry about the Nats. I can worry about the Mets. Cardinals a little bit. Dodgers. Diamondbacks look good currently. I can find things to worry about with the Phillies and Braves. The Brewers? Not one bit.

Those other teams all have stars. They have the finances to get things done in the future and/or prospects upon prospects to turn into stars.

The Brewers? They've got some nice players that aren't stars, nor will be. They're not particularly young. They've not got loads of money. Not do they have prospects that scare me to death. They're just decent. They try hard though.

They're just a team I would literally HATE to be a fan of myself. Because they're in purgatory. They're going to win 77-85 wins like clockwork for a few years, then fade away. What a window.

And their fans? Those deluded peons that eat theirs vitamins and say their prayers, hoping to see Zach Davies and Chase Anderson turn into a great 1-2, that pray for Shaw and Braun to turn into Shaun or Braw, to compete with Bryzzo.....

We need to have empathy on those people. Nah, let's just make fun of them, because they're really, really stupid and deserve the misery they're in the process of witnessing.

Sound like tribune Cubs. I am so thankful for our current ownership/front office. Being a Cubs fan is sooo different. I had a fan of another team throw out the "once in 110 years" garbage this weekend. It didn't even sting a little. I felt sorry for him. He couldn't understand what a big deal 3 NLCS in a row is. That's the definition of a big window. And I feel like its just starting to open. To think that the true talent of this team is growing **from** a world series championship. Crazy.

I feel so bad for Brewers and Pirates fans that I don’t even really get enjoyment out of destroying them, other than the actual winning games/division titles part. To put it another way, I love winning games in the division, but spiking the football isn’t even fun for me when it comes to the Pirates and Brewers.

For the most part I prefer ignoring the Brewers and their fans antics but this is pure insanity. First for your point above but second because his whole diss is based off being "pretty sure" the Brewers will win in his lifetime. You have to have absolutely nothing to grasp onto if that is the best bragging rights you can make.

Where are those morons getting the attendance stuff at? We're averaging 35,529 per game and they're at 32,955. Are they so stupid they think they're ahead because they've played 3 more home games?
