The NL Central is about to be 15-2 since Tuesday morning

I don't know if the actual timing works out (note: it definitely doesn't), but if you combine all the teams current streaks, the Central is on a 16 game winning streak right now.

Cardinals W2

Brewers W2

Pirates W4

Cubs W4

Reds W4 (lol Dodgers)

Edit: By the same method, the NL West is on a 15 game losing streak.

Padres have 1st and 2nd with one out in the 10th and their 2 and 3 hitters coming up. Hope they don’t blow this one also.

EDIT: Hosmer swings at a curve up at the letters and hits into a double play. Well done.

Tie game bottom 9. First two padres reach. They try to bunt with 2 strikes and foul out. Ridiculous.

The bunter was a pinch hitter. For Villanueva, one of like 3 guys on the team who can sort of hit.

I’m no Dodger fan, and feel like I’m defending them a bit, but they’ve been significantly injured so far.

They're also 8 games out of first, having dug themselves an enormous hole against an easy early schedule, and even if you put them as good a team as the DBacks right now, they're still projecting to finish 83-79 right now and well out of a playoff spot. Projected to finish ahead of them are the Cubs (95-67), the Dbacks (93-69), the Nats (92-70), the Cards (89-73), the Brewers (85-77), the Braves (85-77), and the Pirates (84-78), with the Phillies (83-79) projected even with them and the Rockies (82-80) a game back.

Brad Hand trying to blow it in San Diego.

EDIT: Wong watches three straight sliders and the Cards lose. The first one was clearly outside but the next two were in the middle of the zone.

If the Dodgers play at a 100 win pace the rest of the year, they’ll win 91 games, which might only be good enough for a wild card. If they’re merely a very good team rather than a great team and play at a 95 win pace, they’ll be at 87-88, which means they’d have to fight to get a wild card spot.
