Brewers are literally playing as best as they can possibly play and the Cubs aren’t playing as well as they can and they’re 3 back and 1 in the loss column. And the guys thinking the Brewers aren’t all that big of a threat are the crazy guys vs the guys who think they are some insurmountable behemoth.

Got it. Thought it was. I mean yeah if the Brewers are gonna go win 100+ games there’s not much we can do. But I think we can reasonably assume that won’t happen.

They are going to have a hard correction soon enough. Their rotation is trash, they’re using Hader and Jeffress every week like it’s the playoffs going multiple innings, Cain is playing at like a 7+ win pace, Jesus Aguilar is playing like Mike Trout, so on and so forth.

The Brewers offense sucks. Their starting rotation sucks. They've played an incredibly easy schedule. They haven't done all that well against it and instead have lucked into a much better record than their performance would indicate. The only time they've played anyone good -- us -- they got their asses kicked.

 

Their bullpen has been unsustainably good, which has allowed them to outpace their actual performance. They've lucked into just so happening to have a fully rested Josh Hader for every 1-run game and allowing him to rest during all the blowouts.

 

When the schedule picks up, they are going to go in the tank. They have too much trash on their roster to do this all year. They just aren't very good.

I took it as a slight to the Cubs saying if they lost tonight they’d be in the same divisional spot as the shitty Dodgers and likening them to a underperforming (and shitty) team that’s under .500. But my bad

Joey Votto didn’t watch the RF or his 3B coach to lead off the 12th down 1. The RF was kicking the ball around. It was an easy triple if he just paid attention. Instead he settled for a double. Next guy singled. They didn’t send him and force the CF to make a throw. Next guy flew out to LF. They didn’t make him make a throw. The next hitter was their relief pitcher. K of course. Real nice aggressive baserunning you dunce.

 

Edit: also, potentially could have scored on a pitch that got away from the catcher with 2 outs, but he didn’t have an aggressive secondary at all.
