Jake Arrieta is mad offline.

Imagine if John Lackey had to go from Javy and Almora to that.

Pretty much. His K rate has dropped substantially thus far. Not going to be a good time.

Pirates had a rough 7th and 8th innings tonight. Up 5-0 against the DBacks and they give up 5 in the 7th and 4 in the 8th.

And it all started when Joe Musgrove threw a retaliatory HBP to start the 7th. Classic Pirates.

Man do I love when meatbally [expletive] comes back to bite a team.

Musgrove had hit two guys already (on 0-2 slider and 3-2 change). Then the DBacks hit Harrison on an 0-2 pitch that hit him in the upper shoulders. I get why Harrison would be angry because the pitch was really close to his head. Shipley also threw one up and in to Meadows on an 1-2 pitch. I suppose one or both could have been intentional but considering he almost just drilled a guy in the head, Shipley either had one get away, or he's a terrible person who tried to drill two guys in the head.

Best part is immediately after the pitch to Meadows, the DBacks announcers say "He's dusted two Pirates now and with Pittsburgh's history of pitching inside, that's not going to sit well in the Pittsburgh dugout. Clint Hurdle and his guys have long had a well earned reputation of plunking batters and pitching inside."

If a Clint Hurdle team goes winless the rest of the year, I would be a very happy person. Red-assed dolt.

the idiot Pirates are a good reminder that for as much as I don't really think the Brewers are good, I do appreciate that they've generally avoided trying a bunch of nonsense in the name of rivalry. Craig Counsell may only have half the bones of a normal boy, but I do give him credit for that

Tim Tebow has shown signs he's improving as a baseball player

lol - you made me go look up his stats.

He has a 38% strikeout rate in AA as a 30 year old. I don't think he's going to make it.
