I don't usually believe in stuff like this but I do think Stafford is a clown who can't win against good teams

That sling arm pass of his has gotten him in a lot of trouble. Not sure how they didn't fix that throw early in his career.

the throwbacks are still here!

Looks like it's a new NFL rule that is allowing an alt and a "classic"

Is there going to be a Bears-Packers week 1 game thread? I haven't been this pumped for a Bears season since 2013 when I was fooled by the Trestman hiring.

I'm less and less pumped for the start of a new season every year, but my recollection is I wasn't particularly excited about the beginning of the Trestman era. I think the Trestman/Emery press conference weirded me out and all the CFL staffers he brought in had me highly skeptical. Although everything about that era just blends into a sludge of boredom.

I have to admit that this is the most optimistic I've been about a season since the Lovie era.

That's really not saying much, though.

Same here, but I'm still guarded until we actually start winning same games.

Bears fans have been hurt so often that they can't help but feel extra-cautiously optimistic. Like many others, this is also the 1st time I've had any optimism for this team in a long time. With Mack, and barring significant injuries of course, I think they're finally playoff bound. I've never seen so much change over one off-season and a lot of people are going to be shocked at how much better they are. I'll predict they end up as a top 10 unit on both sides of the ball and an absolute pain in the ass to game plan against with how many weapons are in play now and their front 7. I can't wait for this Green Bay game, Rodgers is great enough to hold them off still and there will be ample doom and gloom waiting if he does.

I have their floor at 7 wins and their ceiling at 10 wins. I don't see them making the playoffs unless they sneak in as a 6 seed at 9-7.

If you have their ceiling at 10 wins how do you have their only shot for the playoffs sneaking in at 9-7?

Their 10 win ceiling is a scenario with several AFC wins and bad tie breakers?

I'm calling it. That 2020 pick difference 1st to 2nd will be less than 10 slots. All in.

Okay I know I'm a year away from seeing this prediction, but feeling pretty good about this now, haha. Self bump. Plus everyone can go mock anyone who doubted the Mack trade (if there were any).

Yup, what you think of the Bears depends mostly on what you think of Trubisky. I think he’s the best non-Rodgers QB in the division by large margin and he’ll prove it this year.

Cousins and Stafford had on average 97 QB ratings the last 3 years with a 3:1 TD to INT rate (85:30) while throwing for about 4,500 yards per season. Trubisky is not better than that by a large margin.

Gentlemen’s bet on who scores the most fantasy points between the three in a standard league?

All things considered, I think Mitch had the best season by any QB in the NC North. I don't know where he stands in fantasy. Not first or second due to missed games. Cousins somehow has the best stats, but he failed in big games. I didn't see Mitch being this good, but Nagy obviously has really improved his play.
