Man the NBA is such a tease. It acts like it wants to avoid Warriors-Cavs Part mother horsefeathering 4 but then the Celtics and Rockets blow double digit leads at home in their respective game 7s (just assuming the Rockets will continue this way and lose). Sick of this dumb league

I love it and hate it at the same time. I would say 2 surprising things have happened in what, 10 years or so. Cavs bearing warriors and Mavs beating Heat maybe.

Were fans really sick of Celtics vs. Lakers every year back in the day?

Yeah I don’t know I was under 10 for that. All I know is right now I’m sick of it. Maybe I’ll look back at it more fondly in 20 years

Maybe. Those Lakers/Celtics years are looked at like they were the glory years, but my guess is that fans thought it was the same kind of boring crap we think this current series is today

I was pretty much in the same boat. I got sick of it, but Jordan's Bulls were up and coming and we all knew it was a matter of time before the Bulls were winning several titles. I guess if you were a fan of the other NBA teams from the early 80's to the late 90's its probably a similar feeling to how it is now.

I believe there were some people who were sick of the Bulls every year back in the day.

I just really, really wanted the Jazz to win one of them.

Literally no other possible narrative this year besides the greatest player of all time singlehandedly taking on the Warriors is any good, you dorks. Nobody gives a horsefeathers about the Celtics or the Pacers or the Rockets except for shut-ins and maniacs. Yeah, the Cavs are almost certainly gonna get killed, but at least we'll probably get one amazing LeBron game, which is infinitely better than watching the nobody Raptors kind of sorta exist as a real team.

nah, seeing the Rockets vs. Cavs would've been good especially with a gimpy Paul

I wouldn't have minded that just because LeBron probably would have won that series, but the astronomical long shot of him inexplicably beating Warriors with this monstrous Cavs team is too good to pass up.

Most relatively realistic minor "upset" scenario for me is the Warriors go up 3-0, and then I want some herculean LeBron heroics to drag it to 3-2, putting the fear into the Warriors. Then game 6 is this bonkers back and forth and the Warriors just barely pull it off.

For the worst possible reason, too. I bought into the scrappy white guy mystique of Stockton.

Is it mystique if the scrappy white guy in question is actually an elite player?

I mean, the biggest highlight of their one series win over the Bulls (Jordanless, no less) is Pippen posterizing their best player so...

I think Kareem is gonna have a hell of a time at this age.

I think so. Jeter put up four 6-win seasons and the mystique around him is still annoying.
