I am confused why we are pretending that Scottie Pippen is in the same league as Wade though, seems like one hell of a stretch. Wade was much more talented and PER has Love as a much better player as well.

Is Basketball Reference worth a damn? Because they have Pippen as obviously better than both (I mean, Love? Come on).

Love was really, really good pre LeBron. I think LeBron kills post players on his team, ask Bosh. Having watched both, I don't think Pippen is in the same world as Wade.

Again, I don't know what BasR's rep is, but going by them Love has managed to have one peak Pippen-level season so far. And they seemingly have Pippen, at worst, being only a bit better than Wade.

What are you looking at? I'm looking at those three and it looks like Pippen is the worst of the three. Love is better when you look at per minute rates. Love missed quite a bit of games in his career already. Pippen has better total # cuz he played more games. Wade is easily better than those 2.

That's why I keep asking if BR's numbers are any good; they seemingly have these cumulative rating and value stats, but are they just bunk at this point?

From a purely subjective meatball standpoint, I picked half a dozen "best NBA players of all time" lists from within the last two years byt recognizable sites/magazines/channels, and literally all of them, oddly, had Wade and Pippen at about 25-24, with Pippen coming out just ahead.

Hard to say really. It's the site I go to cuz it has everything. I'm not sure where else to go for advanced metrics? Is there a NBA fangraphs website out there yet? There's landofbasketball.com, but I haven't check it out enough yet. I don't think they have figured out the advanced metrics yet as it's still "new" compared to MLB, but It's not complete bunk either.

I like PER, WS/48, and BPM when I'm comparing players. It's more rates based for comparsion, but NBA is more suited for that than MLB imo because how do you compare a guy who plays 82 games/37 mins a game (Lebron) and a guy who play 51 games/32 mins (Curry) or 63/30 (Embiid) as an example?

WS/VORP is fine if you're just looking at career total as a quick glance type of thing.

I think people will rank Wade ahead of Pippen as time goes on.

I really, really don't like that they can review block/charges for whether or not the guy is moving now. Whether or not he's in the restricted area is fine. That's black or white and a quick review. But whether he's set is a judgement. You can't review that but not other foul calls.

i wonder if mojo had fun watching one of the best performances in finals history rendered completely meaningless by a pointless series

Yes, I enjoyed watching this awesome basketball game very much, thanks for asking.

This is almost exactly what I said the best case scenario was instead of you weirdo fart babies wishing it was a different match up.
