I like Zobrist in there. Don't be haters. He's very likely to slap a ball down the line in a critical moment. Happ is likely to swing and miss at 3 pitches right in the middle of the strike zone.

Ian Happ has been a far better hitter than Zobrist this year. It's not particularly close.

Zobrist is also a worse outfielder.

Out of curiosity, I decided to investigate my hunch that Happ swings and misses pitches in the zone an awful lot.

And its true. According to fangraphs, his Z-Contact% (contact % on pitches in the strike zone) is 77.9 with the average being 85.5. Zobrist, btw is 93.1% with a career average over 90%.

Not claiming this is a critical stat, but still. Just thought it was interesting.

OK. Fine, maybe I'm a meatball. But Maddon is going with experience here. WS MVP. Back to back WS champ.

And yet look how little Zobrist has done with that this year, and with zero signs of righting the ship as the season wound down.

Win turds.

But alas it’s Dusty freaking Baker, greatest post season managing mind in the game. Probably will have his son at bat boy again and Rondon will tackle him to save his ass again all these years later

Zo starting on the road I can stomach, because that means none of his wife's caterwauling over loudspeakers. At Wrigley, however, he needs to sit.

you guys know obviously zobrist is going to go like 3/4 with a double now right? this is a great thing we're doing.

what we're doing is ensuring zobrist goes 3 for 4 while the rest of the lineup does dick

Oh so Rondon does still have a role in this series

I'd be ok if he brought back "Alive". Not that it's any better of a song but for nostalgia sake

How I expect this series to go for the Nats:
