The W flag is still flying.

I still have my W hanging in the living room window, hung in front of the curtains. I have no idea how long it will stay up... Maybe until it's time to put up Xmas decorations? Till pitchers and catchers report? Might be the hardest damned decision I'll have to make over the next four months.

Until we lose a game that matters again, which might be like 2022.

I had my Nest camera turned to me so I could relive the feeling of the end of the game. Looking back at the video I was supremely confident that we'd win. But now that I'm looking back, holy horsefeathers that was a stressful ending.

Good post. Joe's handling of the pen in the WS wasn't perfect...but you have to take the good with the bad, and I still think Joe's one of the top 3 overall managers in the game, with a strong argument for best.

More than not perfect, trying to use Chapman for multiple innings in game 6 is an objectively terrible decision, and it had dramatic consequences. However, Maddon is typically much better than that, and he also deserves credit for the resilience of the team. Can you imagine a Dusty Baker-led team coming back in those circumstances?

A Dusty Baker team would have wilted in front of the Dodgers.

i don't think what he said was too unfair. if a veteran player who's been a starter for years is getting phased out and not playing much, the manager should probably have a conversation with him about what he can expect.

It's a fair complaint but the timing of it and the fact that he said it in public is weird. The guy was likable as hell, even when he struggled and now he's less likable to me because he complained on a radio show the day of the World Series championship celebration. Just an odd thing to do.

I am posting in the Cubs World Series Championship game 7 thread, for anyone who was wondering!

So happy, but sad this amazing season is over.

Maybe he was drunk?

I think it's important to keep in mind that Miggy was likely really, really drunk during that interview. He's been a model teammate as a Cub, particularly when Contreras came up and basically took his job. This doesn't impact my overall feelings on Montero one bit.

That's fair. I just read the article and didn't hear the interview.

I can't stop watching the last play and the celebration on the field. It's just so wonderful.

Bryant's face as he fields the ball just gets me every time. That's just pure joy and excitement.

horsefeathers. I miss baseball already.

yeah, I don't give any horsefeathers about football this season. maybe the college basketball season will entertain me because horsefeathers the nba

I like the NBA. College basketball season will be interesting but I doubt Iowa is any good and I forgot who Iowa even played today. I don't care about sports right now and won't for awhile so that's cool.

I usually follow hockey, football, and basketball in that order once baseball is over. However, I just don't have anywhere near the interest as normal seasons. I just want the winter meetings and then spring training to start.

This October was a draining and exhausting experience. The only innings I missed were the last two of WS game 4. I even stayed up until 3am for game 3 against the Giants, and had to be back out of bed for work shortly after 5. Trying to keep up with my job and schoolwork and watch the Cubs really took a lot out of me.

I'll probably start getting spun up on the NFL in the days leading up to week 17. Until then, my sports energy will be spent basking in the glow of the WORLD SERIES CHAMPION CHICAGO CUBS.

I spent over $400 at my local dive watching playoff baseball over the past 2 weeks. Now I'm pinching pennies for a few months to get myself on better financial footing.

I'm out of sports watching energy. I've never cared as little as I do right now for Sooner football or Thunder basketball, and it's because of this Cubs playoff run. I think I'm just gonna be boring for a little while.

Also, I'm shamelessly posting this to get closer to 108 pages.

i don't understand how somebody saying horsefeathers the nba can possibly like terrible slow sloppy unskilled and overly white college basketball. horsefeathering TERRIBLE.
