I'm strangely at peace right now. Long way to go in this one (although, I freaked the horsefeathers out down 3 in the 9th vs the Giants and down 2-1 vs the Dodgers and even after game 1 so maybe I should try to lose my mind.)

One more thing before I drown my sorrows in calories, this is the same thing that happened in the NLCS, the Cubs dropped a home game and people were sad and didn't notice that the opposing team wasn't hitting at all. Throwing on 3 days rest(and then again after that, but let's cross that bridge if necessary) is not going to be the same guy, get Kluber for a couple runs and bring things back to equilibrium.

This series is over. Lets pray we ever get back in this spot again

Oh for FFS. Stop with the self-absorbed whining. We all think this game blew, of course. But the series is only over after one of two teams wins four times. There's a lot of baseball left. I'm so sick and tired of the woe is me schtick. Don't like it, go be a White Sox fan.

David is one of the more optimistic and rational posters on the board. He should be able to get away with a negative thought or two.

Everyone was pressing tonight. Win tomorrow and Sunday and end this horsefeathers on tuesday

Got that right. I should've remembered: dongs are overrated. In baseball and life, fellas.

welp, put me in the camp of series over. nobody has been able to make me feel good about short rest Kluber, and this offense just did that with the wind howling out

We lost by one ONE ONE run! Shite happens and they are at least two games left.

I'm so over the we're cursed horsefeathers. We looked like we'd be killed against the Giants and we were down 2-1 to LA and we are in the MOTHER horsefeathering WORLD SERIES and you guys turn into gelatinous cubes. horsefeathers off.

Is it set instone that Kluber is going tomorrow even though they won?

I would assume so. They don't really have another starter worth sending and that way they can use him in game 7 if it gets that far.

I told you people Tomlin was no pushover

Get ahold of yourself, man. We can't have the smart people losing it.

He's not smart, he just has a lot of good programmers.

I fail to understand why umpires aren't required to ask for help on checks wings. That's something that homeplate umpires just should not be allowed to call. It may not have made a difference tonight, but there's a chance it could have.

I don't get why hitters aren't allowed to appeal if catchers can.

Because the MLB rule book has nothing about check swings

I'll leave with this, none of the long drought teams win titles at home..bsox, wsox, and giants all away

And

Martinez was probably out at third but I may be biased.

He was almost certainly out, but there wasn't enough to overturn.

I honestly think his pinkie was on the bag and was safe. Moot point though.

I appreciate that thought but Cleveland had 11 baserunners in the game. Maybe ding them for being unable to plate more runs but I think they overall hit well and chased a really good pitcher who I thought has a good game plan against them out before 5 innings. The Dodgers in game 2 did look rather bad at the plate overall.

OMG is this Kluber guy unhittable? Like that Kershaw guy too? I guess I should just plan to watch college football tomorrow night then huh.

except that kershaw guy turns out to be much better on short rest, which i think is the same as kluber. kluber tomorriw is on short rest

Technically the catcher's appeal carries no weight either. It is all up to the home plate ump.

nobody thinks there's a curse, you lunatic. things are easily not in favor of the Cubs at present moment, and being realistic about this isn't fatalistic.

The Cubs will win the next 3 and win in 6. Because that's what it seems to take for Chicago teams to win this decade... well, the only other team to win won all their series in game 6.

how was dude out at 3rd again? replay sure seemed to support the safe call

It sure seemed like Bryant got the tag on Martinez as his hand hit Kris' shoe, but before it got to the bag.

But again, nothing incontrovertible.

I wasn't in here during the game. Was everyone else puzzled by keeping Edwards in vs Crisp when Montgomery was ready?
