I mean not to be to fatalistic/negative but the entire 2015-2016 offseason/2016 deadline has come up short in this series except Montgomery. Lackey, Zobrist, Heyward, Chapman. If you want to include fowler as a resigning. Cahill and Smith not on the roster

48 hours off and a return to Wrigley is going to kill off whatever emotional/mental/momentum-al crap is going on here, if even of that even means anything.

 

We've got Jon at home in a do or die game against Ali rip full of generally shitty lefty hitters. Yeah, the sweep would have been nice, but being favored to get to the NLCS is pretty damn nice.

That's fine if you want to use a reply to my post to tell the board to settle down, and I am fine with ripping posts that are dumb and/or overly negative including mine, but I mean it's a question I was wondering because he's done it before (albeit in the World Series which is a big difference)

 

Sometimes people ask questions because they want the people that are baseball smarter (like you) to give a reasonable answer so that we can all be smarter.

 

Yeah, sorry, I didn't mean to rip you or anything. I literally have just been skipping over the fatalistic posts, though. So I saw one that was an actual question and thought to respond. I don't really have an answer to it, other than that they would be doing it out of desperation or silliness. He just came off a game in which he had a heavy workload, and he looked bad last night. I'm just not afraid of facing him for a couple innings on two-days rest, when he was imminently hittable just yesterday. But that's beyond my worries, because right now I am sad, angry, and confused. And I just want Lester to pitch well.
