I haven't seen this possibility discussed yet, but any chance the Giants are considering Bumgarner on 3 days rest for Game 2, which would make him available to start a potential Game 5 on full rest?

Game 2 is tomorrow and he threw almost 120 pitches two days.

I'm an idiot.

He'd be on 2 days rest. So I doubt it. If anything I'd guess he'd be available in the bullpen for game 5 if we have one on 2 days rest.

I have work and have to go to the DVR for this one, but that actually might be making me a touch less nervous.

as we've talked about (and made fun of me) ad nauseam for, i will be at a concert for most of tomorrow night's game. i still haven't decided if, after I watch the first couple innings at the bar, i will continue to follow the game on my phone at the concert or try to avoid finding anything out and watching on DVR when I get home.

It's got to be damn near impossible to avoid hearing an update at a big concert in Chicago with today's technology.

you're probably right. i was just hoping that with the concert going on, there's not much for me to overhear, and then I'd just try making a bee line for my car going LALALA with my ears covered.

Thank god Joe Smith didn't make it

I don't really get this. I know it has to do something with mormonism but I don't get the reference and I know you've been doing it for awhile.

Dear Baseball Gods,

I don't do this much but, please, all I would like are 11 low stress beatdowns in a row a la the first Toronto-Texas game.

In favor of the Cubs of course,

Thanks,

Yep, I was at a Jason Isbell show last year on the first game of the NLDS. Couldn't take 2 steps without someone telling the score, then the final It didn't help I was wearing a Cubs shirt.

8:15 first pitch?

drunkest crowd in wrigley history?

I'm going to get good and hammered, anxiety style

Yup I'm leaving for a golf trip in about an hour. It's about a 3 hour drive. I made sure to leave earlier than the rest of the group so I could get to our hotel/casino bar and get nice and jagged up for a few hours before the game.
