The Stansfield crew is going to put Showalter's dead body in a vacant tomorrow.

I am still in shock on how badly he managed the bullpen. How in the horsefeathers do you not use Britton AT ALL?!

He actually just did an interview w Heidi watney and was pretty classy. Way classier than I'd have been if my manager just took a bunch of stupid pills.

He knows he's most likely not going to be playing for Baltimore next year. They're losing Wieters and Trumbo and they don't have any money left nor do they have any talent in the minors that's near MLB ready other Sisco. So Baltimore either tries to compete again with a worse team than last year and uses what little talent they have in the farm to improve or they deal Britton who still has 2 years of team control left, but is going to cost 8-10M in arb in 2017. Personally I think they need to trade Jones,Britton and Machado, because there's no way they're going to give Manny the absurd contract he's going to get in 2019

Man I love Machado. Lets get him and petition the league to add a middle fielder.

Wow, Showalter. Just wow.

As someone pointed out on Twitter, Showalter never brought in Wetteland in Game 5 of the 1995 ALDS at Seattle either. And that was a save situation!

I don't understand how a manager gets the yips.

Benefit of Buck royally horsefeathering this up is I hope Theo and his mobsters are explaining they will fire 200 wins in two seasons Joe if he dares leave Chapman in the bullpen in any high leverage situation beyond the 5th. I want Aroldis pitching 2 innings a night every playoff game like the rented flame throwing mule he is.

“There are certain attributes that you do keep in mind, that maybe take on greater emphasis in the postseason,” Epstein said, hours before Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter didn't use Zach Britton in a 5-2, 11-inning loss to the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League wild-card game. “One obvious example is your closer pitches to a much greater percentage of hitters in the postseason than he does in the regular season, because with the off-days, he can pitch every game. You’re more likely to use him for more than just three outs. And it’s the end of the year and everything’s on the line, so you put the ball in the hands of your best pitcher.

“That played into our trade for Chapman a little bit, to get a guy who’s that dominant and have him on your side in the postseason in some really big situations. We were certainly mindful of the postseason when we made that move.”
