by the way, some random guy that the cards called up to fill in for matt carpenter (paternity leave) is hitting over .600 with an ops near 2.000.

Some random best team in baseball just beat them 2 out of 3 games.

You don't remember Greg Garcia hitting a big homer against the Cubs last year? I remembered the name but had to look up the specific details, but that was the game Bob Costas spewed that BS about Strop asking forgiveness from a dead relative.

Yeah, Garcia is burned into my memory for that. I was like "really? Greg horsefeathering Garcia?"

I feel like Len and JD had just finished saying that Garcia had little power when it happened, too.

This was the last play of the Mariners/Twins game, I've never seen a game ending play like it: http://m.mlb.com/video/v750632983/minsea-twins-close-out-the-game-on-a-double-play/?game_pk=447602

Wait, why were the Mariners only allowed to challenge one out when Clint Hurdle was allowed to challenge two different outs on a potential DP against the Cubs earlier this season?

Doesn't look like that was true. The ump pointed to both bases and called them out after the review. And the guy at 3B wasn't removed from base before the review, which would have made sense if they could only challenge 1 and chose to challenge at 2B.

I think when you challenge you have to challenge specifically one thing but when the umps talk to the replay guys everything is fair game to look at.

This is the entirety of the BP Southside recap of today's game.

For the third straight game, the White Sox bullpen blew a late lead to the Royals and the Sox fell 5-4. The Royals are now in first place in the AL Central and the White Sox are in third. Baseball sucks and life is pain.

Team Record: 27-24

Next game will be far too soon

As a general rule, I don't have anything against the White Sox. Hawk is the worst, they've had some annoying players at times.....But they typically don't grab my attention. But its bugged the horsefeathers out of me THIS year. Their fans attempting to compare that team to our horsefeathering juggernaut? Its been nauseating to read or even see headlines for.

They're screwed. They can't rebuild, their attendance would suffer too much. I don't think Hahn is talented enough to piece together a truly good organization, given the circumstances.

Trade us Sale though, it may legitimately be one of the best options you've got to actually build a contender.

They just played the Sox broadcast of their collapse vs KC today on Mlb network, and Hawk doesn't say anything when they walked in the the tying run.

Then the next guy grounds out to second and the take the lead run scores. Lawrie throws the ball bad and Abreu throws out Orlando trying to score from second. Hawk says nothing the whole time then at the very end mutters, "got him at home"

I know he's been the sox pbp guy for awhile but he had connections to lots of teams and never played there. I've always found it kind of odd that he's become such a homer for them that he rage quits broadcasting the action when bad things happen to them. At least Santo had a lifetime connection to the Cubs.

All that said it's hilarious.

White Sox on the verge of blowing another lead.

And they did. That team is melting down.

Going to have to go back and listen to this one also.

If only Drake LaRoche was in the clubhouse, none of this would have happened.

Man, Hawk sound so chipper to start the bottom of the 8th.

"A good Jones slider here would be perfect if he kept it low and just off the plate."

Never change, Steve Stone.

Todd Frazier has a .797 OPS to this point with the White Sox.

That's good enough to lead the team in OPS.
