why couldn't Kyle go 1 more out? I know he was just north of 100 pitches, but he'd been cruising since the 1st.

4th time through plus their good hitters were coming up. If Kyle gave up a dong, we would have complained that he should have been removed.

I know the rest of IL, WI, MI, IN, and IA all have decent pizza, too.

There is no way this is true.

The best pizza I've ever had is in a place called De Soto, WI. It isn't a stretch to think that a state known for cheese and sausage could find a way to make a fantastic pizza. Then again, I pretty much loathe Chicago Style so I'm quite certain all of my opinions are invalid here.

the greatest glass of water i ever drank was after emerging from a desert after 25 days.

This one is on Joe Maddon he never should have brought Strop in to begin with.

Easily the most frustrating player on this team for me.

Yes. You take that outing from Hendricks every time and go to the bullpen there everytime.

1 fly ball out to that point. He gave up a bunt single. No reason to take him out there.

Idk how that got out when Rizzo's and Brynt's stayed in

he hit it better

I bet Bryant's had a higher exit velo

He also hit it to dead center.

Right. People tend to look at the results when they should be looking at the process.

horsefeathers happens. It's baseball. And, really, the offense didn't execute as crisply as it could have in scoring situations that would have added to the lead.

I'm out and about right now but should this score somehow hold, I will have the next thread up in a few hours.

North of 100 pitches, just gave up a baserunner (so pitching from the stretch), and the Padres best hitter due up who hadn't done poorly against Hendricks(1 for 3, no Ks). I like going to Strop there, I might have gone to a LHP for Wallace when it was clear Strop didn't have it, but that requires planning against Strop not getting either of the RHP out, and there's also still 11 more innings of baseball to play at least, so I get leaving him in.

nope it's on maddon for expecting that a good reliever could get a shitty hitter out. this one is on joe.

The thing I'm most pissed about is this game is going to keep the completely unwarrented dumb horsefeathers narrative going that the bullpen is a weakness and needs to be fixed by the idiot talking heads and meatball fans. Edited by Cubswin11
