Anyone notice the similarity to Aramis' walk off against Milwaukee in 07?

eerily similar

Both home runs sealed wins on days that didn't look good for the Cubs, and both extended winning streaks to seven games. OPR spotted Milwaukee to a 5-run lead in the first that day.

I'm sure Bryce Harper set some sort of record, too.

They were saying that Harper's 6 PA without an AB tied him with Jimmie Foxx, so I assume his 7th PA set a record.

While the treatment of Harper seemed a bit excessive at times, it is kind of awesome that Joe basically said I think you've got one player on our level let's take him out of the equation and see what you can do. Not beat the Cubs apparently.

Also pretty amazing to get 8 shutout innings of bullpen work without the top 2 arms.

It's gonna be awesome when the Nats gut their strong farm system to get protection for Harper.

Man, if they have to ship off prospects to get Dusty to rearrange the lineup, their more screwed than I thought.

6 times Zimmerman has made the last out of an inning this series another time he almost bounced into a double play. With Murphy being hot it's almost like screw LRL just put your two best hitters b2b if teams will pitch around Harper.

Not like it'll matter today, though.

Zimmerman made the last out of 4 times today. 6 men stranded in scoring position and 9 men left on with 2 outs.

It mattered.

I almost never go on an opposing team's message board but I was on the Cards one this week and this poster, CardRed, got my attention. And as the week went on, it got more entertaining. Because every time he would predict or say something, he'd eventually be proven wrong. A team usually won't go 7-0 during the week, especially against the Pirates and Nationals, and yet, the dude could not get a single thing right. It was fascinating.

Wednesday

11:04 AM: And never give Lester run support. They lose today, plus Bucs won't get swept at home.

2:13 PM: K well I was wrong there. Damn they outscore Bucs 20-5

Thursday

7 PM: Cubs falling apart Fowler ejected. Madden will be gone by end of game. Nats will take 3/4 in this series.

"The Cubs are winning," a poster said.

7:35 PM: Not for long. Nats will get to Hendricks

8:54 PM: What the hell Nats. And the wheels come off. 2 hits against Hendricks?

Saturday

3:40 PM: And the Cubs are going to lose today. Good day.

5:22 PM: Or maybe not.

8:46 PM: They won't sweep 4 games from Nats. I predict Jake gets rocked for his first loss of the year.

Sunday

12:12 PM: Nats 4 Cubs 1. Book it

12:43 PM: Fowler just got hit in the hand by a pitch and it doesn't look good. I'm thinking broke bone.

12:46 PM: I'd assume he won't be back.

1:43 PM: Like I said, Nats got this one.

5:17 PM: Yikes.

I'll occasionally look at that board as well and have seen that guy. I am sure that he's a Cubs fan just trying to stir up trouble. (Which I think is a dumb way to spend time, but whatever.)

Even if he is a mole that has infiltrated their board, circumstances have pretty much made him the greatest troll ever. He is so confident that the Cubs will blow it at every turn, and yet we never lose. The stars have aligned properly for his shtick to work.

It's just a shame that Willson Contreras wasn't there to see Javy be Javy.

Though, I am starting to come around to Vinestal's side. Federowicz has undoubtedly cost our run differential a couple of runs.

Damn. I was really hoping he was a Cardinals fan.

Highlights, highlights here, highlights.

Ron Coomer's complete silence during Baez's walkoff is a perfect opportunity for your mind to hear illusions of Ron Santo's celebration
