  1. I know I don't post a lot here, but my initial impression about he Sorpranos theme is that the majority of the GIFs err heavily to the more negative side. That being said, I too have admired from afar the dexterity of usage in the first game's thread.

  4. Appreciate the help, Liam!
  5. haha I will break it down The first part was a horrid attempt to embed a GIF of Bob Marley singing "Exodus" (an allusion to many coaches/admin staff leaving the Cubs) The second comment was a self-deprecating allusion to the fact that I am like an old man and can't use technology. the last comment about my "good ear" was to further reinforce the joke of me being like an old man. Hope that helps :)
  6. https://www.tumblr.com/search/bob%20marley%20exodus# Not quite as handy with the gif installments as some of you young whipper snappers. ...Speak into my good ear.
  7. The video is so so, but it just shows what a mensch this guy is. So down to earth. Sneakily becoming one of my favorite Cubs. http://sports.yahoo.com/video/kyle-hendricks-opens-25-old-052119622.html
  8. http://prosportsdaily.com/Headlines/ExternalArticle?articleId=457095 "Personally, the new CBA rules do not mean much to me, and it is not going to stop me from going over to the States," Ohtani tells B/R. "The only thing that worries me is the other young players that might try to go overseas after me. I don't want to set the bar too low for them and have to get underpaid because of my decision."
  9. Love this. That dude killed the solo.

  11. Yes, he started games 2 & 3. Ah thanks. I think I was away from the board for those two games.
  12. Not sure if this was posted. Jake the Snake Robberts Cubs Hype video. http://m.mlb.com/cutfour/2016/11/01/207806196/jake-the-snake-roberts-made-an-amazing-hype-video-for-jake-arrieta-before-game-6
  13. He special http://www.csnchicago.com/chicago-cubs/how-kyle-schwarber-such-baseball-rat-cubs-used-him-their-draft-war-room
  14. Wow what a horsefeathers move. But there is basically no more dishonest sport than baseball. Cheating is ingrained in its DNA. So it's not really surprising.
  15. Figured as much. Thanks for the vigilance and taking care of this little village.
  16. And I second the (e)motion about a world series game thread. Whoever you are, thread starter.
  17. Tim, it's more curiosity, but why is the game forum no longer public?
  18. Anyone recall reading if the Cubs pursued Miller? I seem to remember they did and the asking price was Schwarber correct? Was there any additional info that came out? Obviously you can't help but think about the advantages of having him over Chapman (able to go more than an inning more easily, control beyond this year, less distraction, etc.). Just wondering what the Cubs countered with after Schwarber was asked for. Can't help but think the Cubs could have (or should have) outbid the Indians. Anyway, obviously moot now because we have our guys to go to battle with but the question was more out of curiosity
  19. cyber attacks. I don't think we saw any trolls post. Well except our own. Yeah, the site was just getting all kinds of strange traffic during the games. Some of what I was able to identify was just people reading misery porn. There were a bunch of hits from St Louis, for example, during the 6-8th innings yesterday. But there were also times that I was able to see a lot of "threads" popping up in memory on the server that looked like they were just completely random hits on old topics & such. A lot of that traffic wasn't showing up on Google Analytics, which wasn't showing many hits to those topics. So as the games were going along, I had the process manager running the whole time and I was killing any suspicious looking queries. At one point, I removed access to the archives because it takes so much more processing on that database. Sorry to hear. Thanks for your efforts. This is by far the best place on the Internet to learn about and contribute to Cubs related talk. Happy to have found it
  20. Just watched the condensed game https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/video/10-11-16-cg-chc-075545340.html Very underrated play or at least not mentioned much yet - Javy taking two bases in the 5th inning (?) on Crawford's error. It made possible the sac fly and obviously that run ended up being huge. Kind of like Javy's onions.
  21. Like cyber attacks or just trolls?
  22. He crushed a double and jogged part way to first because it was nearly gone. He was easily safe at 2nd, but because the ball hit perfectly off the door in LF they got it in fast enough to put a tag on him while he slid and review showed he came off the base for a millisecond. Thx!
