Guy has played 17 games as a Met and is already getting booed. I side with Javy, horsefeathers those entitled fans.

They may be entitled, but they root for the Mets. And live in NY, or worse, NJ.

NJ rules

Hmmm, why wouldn't he mention Pil-

Or, it could be the fact that nobody cares what Kevin PIllar has to say.

Yeah, Squally is probably being just as dramatic as Buster now.

These are terrible takes. Three players made the thumbs down sign and one of the most prominent baseball reporters out there calls out the two minorities but doesn't mention the white guy. That's bad for a number of reasons but the main one is a racial bias.

Racial bias in sports is definitely a thing and we have seen examples of it in the past. But also, Kevin Pillar has a much lower profile than Baez and Lindor and is largely irrelevant. Both of those things can be true.

Kevin Pillar has a lot more at stake than Baez or Lindor. Frankie has his contract, and Baez is going to get his. Pillar is just a guy hanging on in the league. It's a horsefeathering horrible take by Buster.

mets fans are getting the real javy rollercoaster experience, and have gone from "wtf why did we trade for this guy" in august to "this guy is horsefeathering amazing, give him whatever he wants to stay" in september.

baez is pricing himself out of chicago. .276/.330/.551 with the mets

this may be true, which is pathetic considering the financial resources that the cubs have and the fact that they only have about $40 million committed to next year's payroll.

Even considering Tatis and Ohtani and Acuna, to me Javy is still the most exciting player in baseball. I would choose a randomly selected Javy play over anyone else's. While I would love to see the cubs win it all again, I waited half of my life for the first one and now simply watching my favorite player play for my team brings me a fair amount of joy in and of itself.

he's turning back into 2018-2019 javy. up to .956 with the mets and .818 on the season. he's still 28 years old.

It's as if he's been a productive but irratic player for his entire career!

He's up to 4.4 WAR. What is a little odd is that in his entire time with the Cubs I'm not sure I remember any bad base running - forgetting the number outs earlier this year not withstanding - I'm thinking of taking an extra base or trying to score - he seemed to have that uncanny timing-spidey sense that told him he could make it. There obviously was some but I feel like they were few and far between - however I think I have seen 3 or 4 clips of bad base running in his time of the Mets - getting thrown out at 3rd for the 3rd out, doubled off on a bloop that was easily caught stuff I just don't remember him doing with the cubs. Rose colored glasses maybe.

He definitely did the latter once this year. That was when Ross benched him and caused a kerfuffle.

It's so funny that homerun he hit in the 9th was about 4 feet away from being a single that would have gotten him booed out of the ballpark due to him walking down the first baseline. Not his first time doing that.

I don't give a horsefeathers what advanced stats say, the cubs are gonna suck for a while so I'd rather see him doing insane slides/tags in cubby blue. even if he can't because of advanced age, I still want him back in Cubbie blue. guess I'm a homer, but as tree once said "...that's the way sports work!!"
