Arrieta is a finalist for the Gold Glove Award with Wainwright and Greinke, since when did they announce "finalists" and not just announce the winners?

They've been doing it for a couple years now I think

2-0 in the World Series and he never even achieved god-mode.

Thank you Jake.

As up and down the season was for him, he still got a No Hitter and pitched very effectively in the World Series. Good Stuff.

Most athletes are dumb people. I would imagine at least half of the Cubs team voted for horsefeathering Trump

Yup. I'd be stunned if most either voted for Trump or didn't vote at all.

Well, the white guys anyway. Fowler tweeted about Hillary's speech today.

It doesn't necessarily mean he's a Trump supporter. I'm not and I think it's hilarious/shameful see so people claiming that they're moving to [insert country here].

First thing this morning seems like an awesome time to call that out.

You think it's shameful that people joke about leaving the country if a person who has literally stated he will trample civil rights gets elected president?

That's really dumb of you. You should look up the definition of shame.

I was gonna make a light hearted joke that we all just need to love and support each other more, like lending a helping hand to a neighbor moving out of the country, but I stopped myself.

Eta - stopped myself on Facebook, not here, obviously.

I mean, that's when people are freaking out the most. My Facebook and Twitter feeds are beyond ridiculous. I'm sure his are too.

Ruth Bader Ginsberg was talking about moving to New Zealand for God's sake. It's funny.

People that are clearly traumatized and in pain are hilarious! And taunting them for it is good fun.

Yes. I think it's funny that people getting involved in a democratic election can't handle that they lost fair and square, so much that they are (falsely) claiming that they are going to literally renounce their citizenship.

This happens literally every election and it doesn't get less stupid over time.

Any celebrities that have made pledges to move out of the country based on the results of a democratic election deserve our collective ridicule.

I feel like I should copy the post I made about my daughter's day here, but I don't want to further sully the baseball forums.

It has nothing to do with handling their candidate losing, it has to do with not wanting to live in a country that is led by a racist, sexist xenophobe.

You are right they do threaten this every election and maybe in virtually all prior elections I would agree with calling them out for being dumb. This particular time, I completely understand why someone would want to seek greener pastures.

Edit: And that's the thing that bothers me about athletes that I cheer for being pro-Trump. I have no problem with anyone being a Republican. I try to stay close to the center as it is and I'm not opposed to all conservative beliefs. Regardless, the issues that divide us are not insurmountable to the point where I cannot respect the other person, even some of the more extreme examples. But I cannot respect someone that voted for Trump. There are no acceptable reasons for voting Trump IMO.
