I feel like that they should've went with 10 visits max with a SP (that should be enough I imagine), but start a clock after the 5th visit to speed it up some.

Then you can do something like 3 visits max for each RP with a clock.

EDIT: Does this also count for pitching coach, trainer (to see if the pitcher is injured or not), and manager as part of the 6 visits?

How is weis going to find time to sex our way to victory in the playoffs without late-inning mound visits?

hate to burst your bubble, but a few mound visits will probably be ample time

Did Maddux really telegraph the high inside fastball like that, though?

i didn't know it was possible not to have heard this story at some point. feels like it's brought up all the time.

Yeah, well I didn't know it was possible to not know who Rick Wrona was.

When I lived in Champaign it said Wrona on the side of the dumpster outside my apartment on 1st & Green. I always wondered if they were related.

as a random aside: the girl i've been "seeing" for a couple years is going to quantico in about a week to be an FBI agent so I've got to find someone new for 2018 cubs playoffs. i will do my best for you guys, it'll be my primary motivation.

If Weis' productivity is the key to the Cubs short-term success, imagine if Mojo was getting some...

The Cubs would be the Yankees for the next 50 years.

Poor wording.

My apologies to anyone who lost their breakfast.

"Ugh I wish this exciting playoff game was shorter!"

Mound visits are the opposite of exciting. Multiple mound visits in the same inning is really really really the opposite of exciting.

And they kept huddling after every play in the Super Bowl.

Yes, those two sports are completely analogous. Good call

Damn, you really hate analogies, huh?

Random thought I just had...did Lester feel as fait accompli as Harper does right now? I can't quite place myself there but I remember there being a lot of talk that Theo would go after his old guy that offseason. Obviously, we weren't near as easy a sell as we are now, so that probably changes things a lot, but I remember being pretty confident that we'd get him leading into that offseason.

Yes but it was kinda tempered by the fact that we weren't good yet and really did have a great track record of getting top FAs. I remember thinking the whole thing made sense on like a thousand levels but then getting to end of that train of thought ad being like yeah ill believe it when i see it.

I can't remember what the general consensus was, but I remember thinking as soon as the Red Sox traded him he was going to be a Cub.

Yeah, when the season ended and the first trickles of reports of our interest started coming out, I figured that since we didn't have to give up a draft pick, Theo would make it happen. Still was a nerve-wracking couple weeks waiting for the decision, of course.

Am I missing a Single Ticket sale thread? I can't seem to find one on here anywhere and didn't want to start a new thread if there already was one.

I am so surprised by how little fanfare and excitement there was for Single Game ticket sale today. I remember how this used to be such a hyped event and games like Opening Day or the White Sox series would be gone within minutes of the ticket sale opening. In fact- I remember getting screwed last year with trying to order Opening Day, as those tickets were gone within a couple of minutes.

I was out working this morning when the ticket sale started, and got back home around 1PM and was able to get two tickets to Opening Day without any issue at all... in fact, there were tons of options as far as seating (ie: I wasn't stuck with the most expensive seats).

I'm really surprised that the Single Game ticket sale has been so different this year. I know that the Cubs winning it all in 2016 was great and I kind of assumed the interest in the team would taper off as a result, but geez. This team went to the NLCS last year for crying out loud. They've been there the past three years. They are actually good! It's so confusing how people for decades got all hyped up when they sucked, and now that they're good, the interest has waned.
