Only 50 days until the first full squad workout!!!

Thank you, 2016 Chicago Cubs, for making this the shortest offseason ever!!! Hardly feels like we've had a break from baseball. First spring training game is just 57 days away!!! :clapping: :yahoo: :stickman:

This is actually probably the most I've ever looked forward to the upcoming season; it cannot get here fast enough. That I can now root for this team as a "regular" baseball team (albeit as the defending champs) minus all of the previous baggage is something I never get tired of realizing.

Same here. Next year is here, and it's going to be awesome! I can't wait to go see the Cubs at Wrigley Field without that huge weight on my shoulder as a fan. Already got a bleacher seat for the ring ceremony game, and I have a smile on my face as I'm typing these words.

Last year was fun, let's win two (World Series championships)!

Spring training tickets are almost sold out. All weekend games are sold out. I can buy a package and get dinner with the team on March 3.

Can you visit the park during practice before the games start Feb 17-19 after players report?

Do you need tickets just to go to practices?

Is La Stella the only guy from the 2016 team that's expected to be on the team next year that's not attending?

I think Joe smokes a lot of pot.

""It's a great word to bring an entire message from," Maddon said. "Get in front of the group that first day in spring training. Just think of that word: 'authentic' and 'authenticity' and the positives that can be derived from that.""

Not a bad thing, just sayin'.

Not only that, an infield of Frazier, Lawrie, Moncada, and shortstop Tim Anderson would be among the most athletic in major league history. It’s a shame that these guys will be playing baseball instead of touring the country as the best four-man flag football team ever assembled.

Read this in an article over on The Ringer and immediately thought, that probably isn't even the clear most athletic infield in Chicago.

I think that infield is more "athletic" than the Cubs'. That obviously doesn't come close to equating to "good at baseball" though.

I read "athletic" there as "good at football", which is as meaningless a metric as any that's been used to describe any form of White Sox aptitude in recent years.

Yeah, I think they might be overall, but thought it wasn't the clear, without a doubt proposition he was making it out to be. Not that it matters at all, because like Bukie said, they suck at baseball and our infield (and I was thinking with Javy in place of Zobrist, which proabbly needed clarified) features possibly the two best hitters in the NL and two middle infielders who can hit like pretty good 3rd basemen

It's a joke article about talking yourself into the White Sox being contenders as presently constructed.
