Yesterday, I got rear-ended by a Cardinals fan.

The car isn't even a year old.

[expletive].

Insert easy drunk joke here

That sucks, though. Feel for you.

Place is a cesspool.

would have to start clean at r/northsidebaseball

should definitely be a backup forum if this site goes down

maybe during the playoffs

Only if Tim et al have full banning rights in that subreddit

I don't really feel like moderating so if Tim or any of the other mods want to be a mod there, let me know or just wait until the next time NSB goes down and people start posting.

This reads like a list by someone whose baseball knowledge comes from watching 20 minutes of ESPN while getting his haircut at Sportclips once a month.

10. Seattle Mariners

So many years of both Ken Griffey Jr. and Ichiro Suzuki have succeeded in making Seattle a very likable team, indeed.

i just remembered that we gave aaron miles a 2-year contract

I was just going to say, if NPC thinks he hated Miles with STL (when he was merely bad and occasionally not even that), he can only imagine how much we wanted him to drop off the Earth when he was putting up his .450 OPS or whatever it was here.

The Hendry offseason of 2008/09 was totally enraging. Derosa was traded to free up salary (he was making $5 million) and they turned around and gave it all to Aaron freaking Miles. Granted it was over 2 years but a total misallocation of resources. Especially when they were freeing up money to sign Milton Bradley.

What a disaster.

i was super amped about adding gameboard to that team

Me too. I got into a huge argument with a NYY fan friend of mine who wasn't statistically inclined over whether Bradley had been a top 5 hitter in MLB when we acquired him. It crushed me when Bradley didn't perform for multiple reasons, but that being used as evidence that he was "never a top 5 hitter" infuriated me to no end.

I had a very similar situation. Did your friend use the term "clubhouse cancer," too? And did you completely disregard it like I did?

Ugh, yes.

Yeah, I was super excited about signing Bradley and thought between San Diego and Texas he had figured something out. Obviously didn't know he was such a complete scumbag instead of "just" a baseball psycho, but I was REALLY enthusiastic about the 2009 offense going in to the season. Fukudome was coming in to his second season and I really was expecting him to put it together; he ended up having his best season, but I was big on him become that vaunted Ichiro/Matsui middleground that everyone kept talking about. Soriano was theoretically still the Soriano who had kicked ass in 2007 and 2008. Soto had just been the RoY, and the heart of the lineup being Lee, Aramis, Bradley and him just sounded fantastic on paper. Hell, the starting pitching didn't even look all that bad, and the starters did pretty well outside of Harden not being the stud we hoped he could be. Then Soriano got hurt again and was terrible, Aramis missed a bunch of time, Bradley was a turd and Soto had a rough sophomore slump. The ended up basically winning what they were supposed to, pythag-wise, but I was really thinking they'd win at least 90 games.

Cards back to 10.5 back. To quote one Donald Trump: "How about...how about that whole deal"

It is enjoyable to me to see them vanquished once more

I saw a bit of the end of that Cardinals game...everybody getting all excited that the Cardinals were coming back late, only to allow 6 runs in the 9th. Glorious.

I will not be satisfied until those dopey bastards miss the playoffs.

I personally hope we dong them into submission like we did last season.
