Sounds like Wainwright might be done, going back to STL to get his arm looked at. He had some pretty candid comments about his arm hurting and his FB velo the last two starts has been in the low-mid 80s (avg is 91 this year). Edited by Cubswin11

I'm not going to cry or anything but he's been the most likeable cardinal for the past decade or so.

Wainwright has been the most "likeable" cardinals player of the past decade??? Okay, I guess relatively speaking that might be true, but that's like saying J. Kushner is the most "likeable" person in the White House right now lol.

No not even relatively speaking. On a team full of douchebags (and Dex), he stands out in his douchebaggery

Wainright is terrible, and he'd be a terrible, whiny [expletive] even if he weren't a cardinal. What are you even talking about?

yep. i tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he was thinking of someone else. but, if not, he's an insane person.

Soooo why are they being compared?

Because the entirety of Cardinal fandom (BFIB Nation as I like to call them) has a weird obsession with how celebrated Ross was/is. They have no understanding that we, as a fanbase, totally didn't take any of it seriously and it was a novelty. They truly seem to believe he's seen as one of the most beloved Cubs of all time. It's really, really weird.

They memorialize drunk driving murderers, we like to jokingly memorialize players who are good dudes on WS winning teams

It still cracks me up that he bailed on the site after being called out on that.

this is my kinda horsefeathers right here

The recent history of Cubs players involved in domestic violence might be reason to reposition your moral high ground.

None of it is funny or joke worthy.

we haven't memorialized our domestic abusers in our stadium. until that day happens i'm ok with my stance here.

I still want a Chapman statue..
