”We want the game, but you have to earn it from the commissioner and MLB. This is such a big economic driver for all the cities. The city has to come and make a pitch as to why we deserve it in Chicago. The last time, our (mayor and city) was not strong enough. We will need to find out who the next mayor is. This will be a huge economic driver for a city that gets it."

horsefeathers off, maybe the commissioner just hated your stupid face. also the mayor of chicago should not have to go lower himself in front of mlb to get a stupid all-star game. all you ever read is that everyone wildly overestimates how much money an event like the super bowl brings to a host city and that is the SUPER BOWL. the mlb all star game isn’t even popular with people who like baseball.

there's something like 90% of all check-ins being done electronically, and I have seen estimates that expect electronic boarding passes to hit that number within the next couple of years. so yeah, airlines are basically mobile.

i mean i've been checking in online for as long as i can remember...like well over a decade. that's nothing new.

i use mobile tickets now but a lot of times i still print a paper one because it's just easier to deal with once you're there (if i'm checking a bag and have to use the kiosk anyway). and maybe my anecdotal claim is off but i still feel like i'm in the minority when i'm boarding using a mobile ticket (or delaying the line bc of scanning issues).

I'm mobile check in every time, but when traveling with kids we're checking luggage and it took me a while to not automatically hit print boarding pass on the kiosk. Anecdotally I think it's gone from 50/50 a few years ago to 70/30 or higher in favor of mobile the past year. That is when flying united. I've flown a couple other airlines that are way behind the times on tech and don't even offer mobile boarding.

They should have put Todd back in his undercover boss disguise and ran him for Mayor as democrat Rodd Ticketts

They should put them in the street and then have Kyle run them over.

I guess the slogan "Come for the all star game, stayed because you got murdered" wasn't catchy enough.

Honest question: Have you ever considered using "seeing the MLB All Star Game" as an excuse to road trip to a stadium that you've always wanted to visit but haven't yet?

Did you think this was funny in your head?

No.

Maybe they're grooming him to try to run for governor in Illinois. He's now the finance chair for the Republican National Committee. And Illinois apparently loves its billionaire governors...

Woof

Is Todd himself even a billionaire? I know Joe is, but let's be honest, they probably put the dumbest son lowest on inheritance and told him they'd fund his government runs if he didn't touch the big boy businesses.

Are some of those new seats in the outfield corners going to be obstructed view? From that angle it looks that way.

There will be an obstructed view of the right fielder for everybody because the owners were too cheap to sign Bryce Harper.

This doesn't look like a potential bottleneck at all...

Instead of being able to traverse the upper deck by using the wide walkway under the press box (which actually offered a view of the game), now there is a very narrow walkway that runs behind the newly constructed Catalina Club.

Yeah but at least LF and RF will have their own concession patio areas thus reducing traffic across the concourse
