The hell-?

Didn't the same thing happen to David Justice with the Braves?

Wasn't that a dislocated shoulder? I guess that makes sense here, too. I'd be worried that if it happens once this way that it would have a tendency to pop out again.

Albert Pujols is hitting .231/.276/.381 (and doing it batting 3rd or 4th all year). He's due $114M over the next four years.

Miguel Cabrera is hitting .254/338/.405 this year. He's due $192M over the next six years.

Prince Fielder got $24M to not play this year, and has another $72M coming over the next three seasons

And he is still more valuable than Pujols, who has between -1 and -2 WAR by both B-R and Fangraphs.

I know it's been brought up before but man we dodged a bullet in 2011.

http://deadspin.com/the-mets-have-shut-down-david-wright-and-his-battered-b-1798524058

After suffering through an excruciating set of conditions including spinal stenosis and a herniated disc in his neck, David Wright has played less than half a season of major-league ball over the past three years. He last appeared in a Mets uniform back in spring training, where the career third baseman spent his time at designated hitter because he couldn’t throw the ball due to a shoulder impingement. By the time Opening Day rolled around, that injury had earned him yet another trip to the disabled list.

Until last week, the team had been silent on Wright for months—which could have very reasonably led you to believe that the 34-year-old would not be playing any more baseball this year or, possibly, ever again. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, the Mets announced that Wright would try to mount a comeback with a rehab stint at High-A Port St. Lucie beginning on August 22.

That rehab stint lasted three games, and now it’s over. After going 1-for-10 in one start at DH and two at third base, Wright has been pulled to go back to the exam room after continued shoulder pain

Man, the Mets are the worst, but I can't help but feel bad for Wright. Guy would have had a legit slam dunk HOF career if not for his body just completely falling apart.

On Olney's pod today he said Stanton is tied with Sosa for 2nd in HRs in 2 consecutive months behind only Albert Belle. I was surprised it was Bonds so I looked up his splits in 2001 and he topped out at 28. That also led me to see that Bonds hit .403/.607/1.078/1.685 with 16 HRs in Sept, which is just insane.

This is dumb but I saw on Reddit that the in the Astros first game back in Houston after Hurricane Harvey, they will go up against...Matt Harvey.

I think has been said before but Joey Gallo is having a weird season. He has 36 home runs and an .893 OPS, but with a .203 batting average and a .227 BABIP. He has 73 hits on the year and only 20 of those are singles. Over a full season, he would have 51 homers with 98 RBI.

In the month of August, he has a 1.194 OPS with a .179 BABIP. Only five of his hits were not home runs.

What this basically boils down to is he is the new Adam Dunn.
