or he could have been talking solely in the context of choosing between 2 guys who were free agents this offseason, since that's essentially what he was asked about

This was kind of how I was looking at it. Didn't really think it was a big deal.

the last time i remember you this appalled at prospect love it was lindor and polanco JUST SAYING (i didn't love them either tho)

To be fair somehow Lindor learned to hit.

this is an example of why scouting matters beyond stat lines

The thing that galls me the most about Torres is that there's plenty of scouting people saying that he's not a MLB SS, and no one seems to really think he has an incredible ceiling or top end tool, yet he's still getting insane helium because he hit in the funhouse environments of the AFL and ST. Even setting Torres aside, any prospect who hasn't reached AA getting Top 50 trade value consideration is silly unless they're Bryant/Harper special, which Torres unanimously is not.

There's nothing more blue collar (NOT ACTUALLY A THING WITH MILLIONAIRES) than the nickname "Joey Bats."

Soooo......

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/03/mariners-option-dan-vogelbach-to-triple-a.html

In a somewhat surprising move, the Mariners announced that first baseman Dan Vogelbach has been optioned to Triple-A. GM Jerry Dipoto told reporters (including Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times) that veteran Danny Valencia will be the Mariners’ everyday first baseman, with utilityman Taylor Motter as the backup.

Vogelbach is hitting just .228/.313/.333 over 64 plate appearances in Spring Training, which Dipoto said contributed to the decision.

The Mariners were fleeced by a shadow. A shadow with the face of Theo Epstein.

I'm just relieved that the Cubs no longer have to worry about trading Rizzo to make room for Vogelbach.

Seeing that it was a concerted effort to hijack the AMA by Barstool really lowers my enjoyment of Dykstra's PR event being ruined.

Nothing can lower my enjoyment of something of Lenny's being ruined.

I assume you're talking about his mouth and/or jaw the way that conversation is going

hahahaha, I was randomly looking at depth charts and saw the Padres rotation. Their 1-3 on their official mlb.com page is Jhoulys Chacin, Clayton Richard, and Jared Weaver.

Cahill has a strong chance of being their 4th starter.
