They still employ the abuser who his comments about got him fired

Well sure. I'm not rushing to buy an Astros jersey. I'm justing saying they have risen over the low-moral-bar that is the Cubs organization. They are awarded no points.

What did they do to rise above the Cub's low bar? They fired the taunty super horsefeathers who forgot to pretend to care. Correct me if I'm wrong, the Cubs never had an incident like that, right?

*I find the Cubs organization to be overall pretty terrible and am not trying to defend their actions regarding DV which have been bad

Yeah, I think we are splitting hairs, but Addi often forgot to care, and you know, actually abused someone...well, Addi is still, after over a year of bs, still on the roster. It only took what, 4 days to can this tard with the Stros, right? I understand Osuna is the closer on their team, but you can at least feign some kind of redemption with a new team/scene thingy. Whatever. It's all a pile of sh1t.

I could totally see Rami Malek play a weird movie version of Chaim Bloom lol.

Again, I find it crazy that the Red Sox fired Dave Dombrowski less than a year after the winning the WS, but it's probably the right move. Really good hire and makes trading for Mookie Betts much harder (not that the Cubs had a good chance anyway).

I mean handing out pretzel snack packs as a last resort is fine, but you better start with candy first. I was handing out Twix and Crunch minibars to the brave souls trekking through the snow and almost ran out of candy as well.

My contingency plan was handing out Ferrero Rocher, but fortunately they stopped coming before it got that dire lol.

Beltran’s hiring made me look at the 2006 playoffs and holy hell was the NL bad that year. The Mets had the best record at 97-65. Second best record in the league was the Padres at 88-74.

Only two teams in the NL won fewer than 71 games that year - the Pirates at 67 and Cubs at 66. Only 6 teams out of 16 were over .500 that year and two of those won 83 and 82 games.

In interleague that year, the AL went 154-98 for a .611 winning percentage, easily the best of any year (2nd was .591 in 2008 and 3rd was .563 in 2012). Only two NL teams had winning records in interleague and one of those went 8-7. Only 4 of the 14 AL teams had losing records and the worst of those (7-11) would have been middle of the pack in the NL.

Doolittle, a known not-a-scumbag, being the first to indicate this is unsurprising.

Doolittle is an awesome player and an even better person off the field.

I wonder how many players will end up not going? I have no clue about Anthony Rendon and Juan Soto (I think they should also boycott to send a message). I fully expect Doolittle to be the only white player that refuses going. Definitely some scumbags on this team that agree with Trump and his politics like Adam Eaton.

Why can’t the Cubs have one guy as cool as Doolittle? I know that when the team went to go see Trump in 2017 some players skipped but I don’t remember anyone making the kind of statements Doolittle has.
