Chris Sale has thrown 49 fastballs this year, he hasn’t gotten a swing and a miss on one of them. He also set a career low for average fastball velo for a game in his last start.

And his 5/145 extension doesn't start until the 2020 season.

This Chris Davis stuff is interesting. He clearly is not fit to play Major League Baseball anymore, and yet is healthy and is due like a bazillion dollars still. The Orioles cannot trade him because no one wants an empty roster spot and a bazillion dollars. The Orioles should under no circumstance play him, in fact they probably shouldn’t waste the roster spot on him.

 

Sunk cost my friends, sunk cost. Just work something out with him so he never plays again and keep paying him.

I know it is silly and there are so many bigger things to worry about, but the more I hear about players going to the "IL", the more I hate it. What was wrong with calling it the Disabled List?

They're injured, not Disabled. As someone who has a disability (deaf), I always cringed when they say it or it was showed onscreen. It didn't bother me that they HAD to change the wording, but I know a lot of other disabled people that wanted them to.

Really dumb decision to override the deal MLB had with the Cuban government. MLB teams are pissed. The players are pissed and their agents too. Pretty much everyone is pissed (including Republicans) over this.

 

One of the most shameless (and pointless) of the, "oh, Obama did this? Well, then I must do the opposite"-moves.

PS: thank goodness the Cubs don't have that good player, and instead have a bunch of cheap guys of wildly varying states of ability and health. Like, why bother paying for the steak when you can have 4-5 cheeseburgers that have been sitting in a bag in the back of the car? It's not like they were in the sun being down on the floor like that, plus it's been pretty cold!

^^this is what 'Murica is all about! Being the underdog. It's nice to have ownership so in tune with a working class sentiment.
