Just when you thought we'd see the best Mike Trout has to offer... probably gonna miss a couple months.

Such a weird injury. He was literally jogging to third. No idea how that happened.

One of the best plays I've ever seen a pitcher make

i had not realized Odubel Herrera was back in the majors, yuck

Domingo German's return unfortunately kind of flew under the radar too.

This is amazing. New Era released some new city themed team hats. The choices range from strange to bizarre. The actual pictures look like clip art and the best is that each team has their local area codes printed on the front.

People mocked them on Twitter and New era eventually pulled them from their website.

But the best part is for the Royals, they listed all area codes in the state of Kansas and did not put their primary area code on the hat

I’ll let you guess which ones are real and which are jokes

Those are some odd choices for the IL area codes. I guess I get the non Chicagoland area codes inclusion. But they did 630 and 331 instead of including 847?

And they forgot 414 8-)

630 for life! Our house went from 312 to 708 to 630. I kept 630 on my cell phone for ~5 years before committing to staying out east.

I'm old enough to remember 312 being the city and 708 the burbs. I think it was like that through most (all?) of my undergrad, and only then did they add 773 etc.

When I moved there (1992) it was a pretty general 312/708 split on the city borders. People wore 312 hats to show others how un-suburban they were

Dang, you must be old.

It will always be to me:

312 - city, but also 773, but only for like... Luna Carpet

708 - cook county burbs (where I grew up)

630 - west collar counties

847 - North collar counties

Everything else- here be dragons. Which to me, 331 or 224 is still here be dragon territory even though it's the same as 630 and 847. Like those aren't real area codes. My doctor has 331 and it's still odd to me.

Well yeah I'm old. But the first split 312/708 was '89 and more than half the board was alive and kicking by then. The next split 708/630 was '96, and I wasn't even in the area at the time, but technically it was my home.

Okay I was born in 88. So not old enough to remember 312 in a 708 area. But I had no idea it was in my lifetime. That 630 was also part of 708 I had no idea either. We attended a church in a 630 area code so my friends from there were all 630'ers and as I recall there was a specific line I had to call them from. But I guess their 708 days predated the time where I would have called friends myself by a couple years.

Also this is somewhat unrelated to area codes, but also when I was in elementary school I had to learn a new zip code because we went from sharing with Maywood to having our own zip. And I specifically remember some kid messing it up in class the fall after it happened and feeling bad for him for getting it wrong, like "Damn bro you didn't get the memo" lol.

Horsefeathers Cardinals. Today Jon Gant (of the very Cardinalesque 1.56 WHIP/2.00 ERA combo) pitched 5 innings, allowing 8 baserunners and striking out only 3. Opposing him was Carlos Rodon, who went 6 Innings, allowing 1 baserunner and striking out 10. Perfect recipe for another Cardinal win. I know it happens to/for every team. Just venting.

Also, after that insufferable Sunday Night Baseball game where the ESPN booth was worked up into a sexual frenzy over which Cardinal should have the Hall of Fame renamed for him, they put multiple Molina stories on their splash page. You would never guess they had played against another team, much less that that team won. Most of the time it's just laundry but damn I hate that team.
