Ok, so my source on this is sketchy, I admit...but apparently there are people that datamine the Funko servers to find out what Pop's are being planned and they're supposedly going to be releasing a bunch of MLB ones, including Rizzo, if that trips anybody's trigger....

MLB

Mookie Betts

Robinson Cano

Nelson Cruz

Bryce Harper

Aaron Judge

Clayton Kershaw

Yadier Molina

Wil Myers

Buster Posey

Anthony Rizzo

Chris Sale

Max Scherzer

Noah Syndergaard

Mike Trout

I find it hilarious that they are listed this way on that page:

Man, I hate Funko figures mostly out of jealousy that I didn't come up with the idea in the first place.

I know it sounds great if we can throw Bryant, Rizzo, and Contreras into the 9th if we're trailing, but if we're facing someone like the Dodgers and in the bottom of the 8th we're winning and we set down Seager, Bellinger, and Turner or whoever in order I don't want to come back into the bottom of the 9th to face them again. That is objectively stupid to allow that to happen. "Hey remember when you got out of that jam an inning ago? Well tough horsefeathers you have to do it again"

Yeah, why not just shorten the game to one inning. That will keep people on the edge of their seat.

the ninth inning thing is a terrible nonsense nightmare, but i like the make-your-own-lineup thing quite a bit for both teams starting in the eleventh or something. as the sam miller piece argues, if we’re going to negate the fun of long extra innings, let’s install something that would be even more fun. this would accomplish that.

Hasn't Brady won most of his super bowls while watching the deciding play from the sidelines at the end of the game?

yeah as much as i hate the 9th inning idea i am pretty much with tree here (i think, i thought about this for about 20 seconds). i'd just say do this starting the 12th inning, though. or don't do anything. i'd be cool with either.

Or just make position players who have been removed from the game available again after the ninth. You removed Javy in the 7th for a double switch? Now he's a bat looming on your bench in the 10th. I don't like it, but it at least makes sense. No more starting pitchers pinch hitting or running bases.

After the 9th inning you can bat whoever you want in the 10th. HOWEVER if you do that you have to bat all pitchers in the 11th. If you make it to the 12th, you can bat whoever you want again, but the pitchers have to run the bases. In the 13th inning, your coaches have to hit. In the 14th inning you can reset your lineup again but all the players have to run backwards. In the 15th inning you can bat the same batter repeatedly, but he has to hit with the opposite hand.

In the 16th innings, the game will be decided by a cupcake baking competition, the theme of which is decided by a Twitter poll
