Oh yeah! Kevin Conolly's narration is grating, but that story is [expletive] AMAZING.

 

I was in a hotel room, just looking for some mindless nonsense tv, and caught like 15min of the middle of that at like 1am...and I was too tired to stay awake for it, but first thing I did when I got home was find it on Netflix. Just a ridiculously entertaining story. Can you imagine how huge that story would be if it'd happened in the internet age?

 

They also did one about the Gretzky trade to LA

Yeah, one of the best, plus most of the "Soccer Stories" shorts they've done have been pretty fun, too.

Malarchuk's life was saved due to quick action by the team's athletic trainer, Jim Pizzutelli, a former Army medic who served in Vietnam. He gripped Malarchuk's neck and pinched off the blood vessel, not letting go until doctors arrived to begin stabilizing the wound.

 

That's grim, but kind of amazing at the same time. I suspect they don't teach you that stuff in sports medicine classes. Lucky that guy had a Vietnam medic at his side.

There's a 3 foot pool of blood in less than five seconds. It's awful

Ingram steal, Deron's three. Who knew that would basically be the last good thing to happen to illinois basketball in a decade?

Paxson in 93 may be my favorite, but also Jordan over Ehlo, Jordan over Russell, Jordan dunk on Ewing and scream, Hester Superbowl opening kickoff, Sosa off of Urbina, Kerry Wood's last pitch in 20K game are all up there.

And to give some love to Indiana high school basketball, my senior year Jaraan Cornell (future Purdue star) hit the game-winning shot as a Freshman to win the state championship (to beat Bryce Drew, who was on the winning end of a memorable shot in the NCAA tourney for Valpo). Cornell went to a rival HS of mine, but everyone in the city was rooting for them and I grew up with a few players on that team. I was at every game of their title run, and it was fun to watch.

Oh, I started my post intending to put Marshall's hit. And I forgot. I had a conversation on Twitter with Otis Wilson about that hit a few years ago, and he said it was one of the highlights of his entire career.
