it was a good read

Nearly as good as that inning was. I really miss firejoemorgan.com In fact, firejoemorgan was so great it actually offset the miserable existence of the actual Joe Morgan. Yin and Yang or something or other.

Man, it made me miss FJM so very much.

I know Harold Reynolds says some crazy things, but what if I told you that Russell Martin once beat Billy Hamilton in a footrace in 2009? Would that surprise you? I mean, he didn’t, I just made that up, but it would’ve surprised you, right?

I know Harold Reynolds says some crazy things, but would you be surprised if I told you that Maury Wills once called Russell Martin “the smartest baserunner I’ve ever seen?” I mean, he didn’t call him that, I just made it up, but you would’ve been surprised, right?

Kevin Pillar sounds like the name Kevin Millar gave to the cops when they caught him drinking a beer at a house party when he was 17. “I’m Kevin … Pillar.”

Who looks more like Kerry Wood, Lucas Duda or Craig Wilson?

I think my favorite line was:

If Neil Armstrong had played by baseball’s stupid unwritten rules of decorum, he would have whispered, “Yeah, I’m on the moon.”

“Act like you’ve been there before, Neil,” he said to himself, quietly, as he slowly descended onto the surface of an alien planet.

Daniel Murphy just took 3rd on a walk because the Mets were playing a pull shift to right field and no one was covering 3rd. I love it.

Reminded me of when Ronny Cedeno was thrown out at 2nd on a walk once, and how angry I was when I saw that garbage.

I hope they play a 25 inning marathon and both teams use every pitcher on the team. And if the Dodgers win I hope Etheier slugs Mattingly during the post game celebration.

deGrom is looking anything but unhittable today

Greinke is looking better but not his untouchable self. All of this may be apropros of nothing but I'm just keeping an eye on em.

I have free seats sat and Sunday at dodger stadium. Stupid [expletive] Greinke

Syndergaard throwing at least 1 inning today, he last threw on Monday. Wonder what that means for their potential Game 2 starter.

At the very least that means Syndergaard, who is already 50+ IP past his career high at age 22, is going Game 2 on some odd rest.

At best it means that Matz is now potentially starting 2 games in the NLCS, including an early home game against Arrieta.
