Billy Hamilton's regression to next-gen Joey Gathright has been very satisfying on the whole, but today it is annoying

oh god this guy (is it verducci?) is using that as proof of lineup protection existing and before it he said something like "you can bet he's gonna see lance lynn's fastball with joey votto coming up"

apparently he isn't aware of what lance lynn's repertoire consists of

I just tempered my own excitement by checking the Cards schedule and after 2 more games with the Reds they get 2 more series with Milwaukee, another series with the Reds and a series with Atlanta. (and of course a series with us and PIttsburgh mixed in)

I mean if they continue in free-fall mode it wont matter but bleh, wish they a tougher schedule down the stretch.

The Cubs have gained 5 games on the Cardinals since last Friday, could be 6 by the end of the day.

If we just had two of the four games we completely gave away to them it would be really interesting right now.

Reds up 3-1 in the bottom of the 7th, Votto up with the bases loaded after the Cardinals helped Billy Hamilton and Skip Schumaker get on base.

If the Cardinals had any resembling ordinary or even slightly above average luck, we'd probably be at least tied for the division.

how about just having won a game we were up 5-0 in, a game we were up with 2 outs in the 9th, and EITHER the costas june game or this week's game?

Yeah, that too. The disproportionate amount of comeback wins the Cardinals have pulled off against us. It's uncanny how unlikely those all happening in the same year are.
