maybe this is their retribution for commemorating vehicular manslaughter

Karma is a bitch

it seriously blows my mind how they've gotten zero criticism for that

Why is the Cardinals/Reds game blacked out on MLB.tv?

My suggestion is to turn your tv onto Fox

That is what I thought too, but Fox is showing the Blue Jays vs. Yankees. I'm only 50 miles south of Chicago and haven't ever seen the Cardinals or Reds blacked out before. Strange.

FOX is only showing St. Louis/Cincy in local markets because it started later than the Yankees/Blue Jays game because of the suspended game completion

Yes, that makes sense, but then shouldn't non-local markets be able to watch on MLB.tv?

Ok. We need to have pen day be against the Pirates and not tomorrow plus against the Cards. We could be close enough to tie or take the division lead by the time that Cards series rolls around. And I just don't want to see both Haren and a pen day against them.

Though, now that I think about it, maybe the Cards are bad enough that we should be more worried about the Pirates in the divisional race. And is a pen day against the Cards smart, since they can't score anyway?

If you're only picking between the two of them, I'd think you'd prefer the pen day to be against the Cards. The Pirates offense is much better, and also has like 1.5 good LH hitters. The Cardinals are a bit more balanced R/L, so you could squeeze out more of a platoon advantage with a pen day. I still prefer the pen day being Tuesday though, because one pen day is always better than 2, no matter how bad the Phillies are.

the pittsburgh lineup worries me much more than the cardinals

If we're closing in heading towards the second pen day, I think we'll trade for a true stopgap. Like a Harang or something. Vet, last year of deal, but a true starting pitcher, even if its a shitty one.

If anybody is cheering for the Pirates today...

Why would anyone be cheering for the Pirates?

people were talking about wanting the pirates to win the division yesterday

Screw it, I'll ride it out with two pen days. Tomorrow is the biggie, though. As TT said, two pen days isn't optimal. But maybe we can buy a cheap win, since it is the Phillies. And, the pen should be able to remain relatively fresh with all the new arms, thanks to expanded rosters.

Interesting... I like that idea a lot.
