This is no chilling out getting swept by these Phillies. It's pathetic. We need upgrades. Flawed team. We all knew it.

Cubs are 5-5 in their last 10 and 11-10 in July and just finished a winning road trip. Not a great stretch of baseball at all but they aren't exactly in a tailspin either.

Oh, and their they're 6 games over .500

As bad as this offense has been for an extended period of time, this team manages not to spiral so there's no reason to believe it's going to start now.

Schwarber goes deep today. At least once.

1-why the [expletive] did my edits turn out like that?

Isn't this what being a good team is? We've watched them play what looks to be terrible baseball for the past month, or at least less than what we expect, and oh look, they're still over .500 for July. Obviously we aren't at that level, but it reminds me of the Hawks having a 'terrible' stretch of games and still picking up at least half the points.

A terrible month last year (or the last 5 years) would be something like 7-14. Now it's 11-10. This is a good thing.

I think it's the shift in the standings that hurts more than the actual record. A few weeks ago, we were legitimately talking about the chance to run away with the 2nd WC to the degree that deadline deals would be superfluous. Now we're 1.5 out.

I mean we're really nitpicking here, but June 19 to July 8th he's still at a .795 OPS.

Bryant hit a home run two days a ago. Anthony Rizzo has done nothing in the calendar month.

Also if you need to downgrade them again, it's to "Cubes" not cobs.

'Cause I was in a pissy mood. Sorry 'bout that.

I mean, I still think we make the playoffs. But it's also ok to be angry that before the Peralta homerun I was starting to imagine a run at the division and now we're behind the Giants. That's a pretty quick turn from "we're really good!" to "man, I hope we can stay in the race."

Why does it seem like every game lately is on ABC? I thought there were only like a handful of games on the station this year or were most of them intended to be concentrated in July for some reason

Did the [expletive] doing the pregame show really just say Schwarber "started out hot and has struggled the last few games"? If he did I hope he gets hit by a bus. [expletive] off ABC

It's July...

Edit: I'm a moron who can't read. My bad. I'm already in a mood
