I'm willing to give a smidge of credit to Locker, I suppose. Manziel, on the other hand, is by all reports a complete and utter personal train wreck and it's hard to imagine what Loggains could have done there. The stories from last week make it sound like he's flirting with Ryan Leaf levels of idiocy.

He does have legit NFL talent, though, so you'd think there would have been some sign of improvement there. Locker's the more concerning one for sure, though. He has major warts and will never be more than an average NFL QB, but he's not untalented and he's a good kid and a hard worker, so you know he's been trying (unlike Manziel).

IF you are really saying there should have been signs of improvement with Manziel, the kid who needed to be found by security cause he was too drunk to show up for Saturday practice, you have very unreal expectations for QB coaches.

Jay previously wanted Loggains as QB coach

He was well-regarded while in Tennessee, but I haven't seen much improvement from his QBs (Locker, Hoyer, Manziel).

Those arent any [expletive] quarterbacks.

He's not a [expletive] quarterback. He's a non-quarterback on a team roaming the vast and inhospitable desolation of the QB Wilderness. A team so desperate for a QB, they will do literally anything.

the Bears wouldnt even trade them Cutler for the #2 overall pick.

And this whole thing about Mettenberg or whatever his name is ( it doesnt matter) amuses me. Yet again, not a QB.

Nor should they unless Winston falls.

Winston is suck ass [expletive]. He will never make it in the NFL.

What do you want to bet on that?

#Bears hire Jay Rodgers as defensive line coach. He’s spent the last six seasons with the Broncos, last three as their d-line coach.

I'm excusing him for Hoyer and Manziel and mostly excusing him for Locker. Not entirely on Locker, though.

If the Bears wouldn't trade Cutler for the #2 pick in the draft, they're kind of crazy and I like Cutler.

What whole thing about Mettenberger? He wasn't on the team when Loggains was here.

That I'm on board with. Seems to have a pretty positive reputation around the league, though.

Yeah, the local beat writers thought very highly of him around here. He was part of a pretty poor staff under Munchak, though - may mean nothing, but it's worth noting.

When healthy, was Jay Clocker any good? Different style of play than Jake Utler, though, but I wasn't sure.

Is this intentional or a kind of hilarious voice to text screw up?

Locker wasn't even a good QB in college. I don't know why people expected him to amount to anything in the NFL.

The Bears only need to find 10 above average players to be as good as the average conference championship participant from 2007-2013: http://espn.go.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/12179331/how-many-players-away-super-bowl-team

Looks about right. To be fair though, the Bears do have a handful of players who are a year removed from being "good". Marshall, Jeffery, Jennings, Cutler, Houston, Allen. And I'm not sure how Forte is just average. But some resurgent years, improvement by young players (Fuller, Bostic, Jones) and a good draft and the Bears can compete for a playoff spot.
