Yea. Not to make myself feel better, but it kinda seems like they don't know what they're doing now that Pace is gone.

Stills to Miami for a 3rd and Ellerbe. Dammit.

That's quite a bit to give up for Stills. A 3rd and a decent player. But the Dolphins are getting a pretty good player and gaining cap space. I guess that's worth a 3rd round pick. The closest to an equivalent the Bears could have done would have been Lamarr Houston and a 3rd....which I don't know that I would have done.

Updated Draft Tek mock has Bears taking Beasley, with Copper and Parker as alt's:

http://www.drafttek.com/2015-NFL-Mock-Draft-Round1.asp

That's a pretty awesome Bears draft.

OLB Beasley

WR Coates

WR Dorsett

DE Raciti

DT McCarthy

S Johnson

The first 2 are the same 2 picks I have on my personal mock draft. Dorsett is one of my favorite players in this draft, though I don't think he's necessary, assuming this Royal deal becomes official at some point soon. I'd probably go CB or S there and a couple of my favorites are on the board (PJ Williams and Cody Prewitt) and I'd take either running to the podium. McCarthy if he falls that far has the potential to be a steal if he can finally put it together. Believe he was pretty highly recruited. Raisin could give more details why he didn't live up to expectations, but I have no idea why he didn't or why he came out this year.

Yeah, Ellis was a 5-star recruit but was always out of shape and had quite a few leg injuries (probably related to being out of shape). Also probably should have been a guard and not an NT - he's tall and just can't get low enough.

He actually went to HS in the town I live in and worked out at my gym in the summer. Really nice kid. Never seen someone deadlift more in person than him.

The Chicago Bears have explored the possibility of signing veteran center Samson Satele.

Two NFL sources told the Tribune the Bears have expressed interest in the veteran that has started 114 games in his career for the Dolphins, Raiders and Colts. No deal is imminent at this point.

Satele, 30, started all 16 games for the Dolphins last season, his second stint with the team.

True story: Samson Satele is a worse center than Roberto Garza.

It appears that Mason Foster is confirming he's coming to the Bears on Twitter.

LB Mason Foster seems to be "confirming" he's going to the #Bears via response to his cousin. Interesting

Multiple sources confirm #Bears have been working on a deal with LB Mason Foster for days now. Just not sure why they can't seal the deal.

Michael Wright is saying the sides aren't close with Bears and Foster. Funny, he and Leming have been saying opposite things the last week and a half. Leming has been right usually.

BREAKING

Brad Biggs @BradBiggs

Source says #Bears expected to sign veteran long snapper Thomas Gafford, who spent last 7 seasons with #Chiefs

Granted he's from the Montery County Herald, but...

John Devine @JohnJDevine

While the Bears continue to be the frontrunner for Seaside grad Mason Foster, the 49ers have expressed interest after losing two linebackers

Is the guard the bears signed any good?

good enough to sign an nfl contract

Good enough to have played all 16 games three of the last four years. I've actually never even heard of him.

Ducasse was a highly sought after small school OL a few years ago from U Mass . Hes basically been a bust so far. Jets gave him every shot to start.

Bears re-signed TE Dante Rosario to a one-year contract. He played for John Fox in Carolina & Denver. ST contributor & versatile offensively

I'd still draft a TE late and hope he beats out Rosario and Zach Miller stays healthy.

It's too bad Mason Foster isn't good.
