one afternoon in late september, tom ricketts sat down to watch the cubs on his new television

tom was so upset that he sent his lackey out on an errand to help him get his rage out

"i'm a freaking billionaire! why do i buy all this garbage stuff when i could buy awesome stuff instead?" tom wasted no time in effecting this change

with the decision made, tom now just needed to inform theo of the new plan

newfound cash in hand, theo immediately set his sights on his old pal, jon lester. theo thought he might be swayed by an artist’s depiction of lester himself winning game 7 of the world series for the cubs. but could theo find an artist of the requisite magnitude capable of putting such a thing together?

treymon truly earned his $300,000 fee. upon seeing the picture, lester agreed to sign with the cubs for $10/hour on two conditions: that he be allowed to visit the other interested clubs out of respect for their doomed efforts, and that he be allowed to lie about how much he was making in order to impress his in-laws (and their friends). the cubs agreed and the deal was made. all that was left now was to keep the deal quiet until it was time to make the announcement. how hard could that be?

despite all of this excitement, it is important to not go overboard in our expectations. there is a limit to how much one man can accomplish during his time on this earth.
