One guy that doesn't seem to be mentioned much for a trade target is Christian Yelich. He is one guy who I would be willing to part with Almora, Edwards, and Vogelfats. The Cubs have enough trade chips to get anyone, but Yelich is going to grow into more power and already is a good OBP guy. Thoughts?

Not gonna be available, they love him and are trying to compete .

I realize it is tougher to get him being that he isn't arbitration eligible for 3 more years, but if the Cubs REALLY wanted, they have the pieces to pull it off and he would be a great LH bat to complement the lineup.

I think we are gonna have to wait 2-3 for Stanton, Yelich and Fernandez to be available. After the extensions all kick in and they go into blow up mode.

I'm watching Russo again today, [expletive] MLBN for having him on during my lunch, but he really hates Chase Headley. Every time his name has come up the past few days he has nothing but good things to say, it's almost like Headley fucked his wife or something.

After sleeping on it, I think the big question is how the FO perceives Bryant's defense at 3B. If there isn't confidence there, they should nab Headley next. If they think he can man 3B for a few years, then go for the outfielder. Fairly obvious stuff, but I'd love to know what they really think there.

What I'm confused about his how Bryant got voted the best defensive 3B in the PCL this year. Was that just a matter of there not being any other good defensive 3B in the PCL or was it a Palmiero Gold Glove type of situation?

And every time it comes up, it's "he's not worth anywhere close to what he's looking for." "He's not good" "tons of better options" etc.

So, what does it take to acquire Coco Crisp? He was pretty bad in 2014, but given hsi contract he wouldn't cost much and he fills pretty much all needs.

Being bad at offense in LF is something the Cubs have plenty of in-house options for already.

He's a year off of a .779OPS,21SB,3.9fWAR season with tolerable defense in CF. Even a line like his 2012 season would be great.

He's 35. His 2012 season is long in the rear view mirror. I'd rather stick with Coughlan.

He's not at the top of my list, but may be easiest to get player/prospect wise. Would something like Castillo, Wood and a not huge prospect (Szczur, Watkins type) be enough for Kemp with LAD eating 1/2-2/3 of his contract?

Of course Bowden just mentions that Russell and Edwards could be enough to get Kemp. Screw that.

I'm sure Russell and Edwards is enough to get Kemp.

There's a lot of chatter about the Dodgers gunning for Jimmy Rollins. As desperate as The Phillies are in need of a rebuild, there's great 3 team potential there, and if need be, we have cash to throw around.

Cubs get Kemp, Dodgers get Rollins and Phillies and Dodgers each get whatever's a reasonable combo of players and cash from us.

Local sports radio guy. I don't know what station he's with now.

Apparently the Cubs were in on Luke Gregerson before he signed with the Astros. I was talking with someone who was related the Luke before a Cubs game this year and asked if there was any interest of pitching with the Cubs. Apparently Luke doesn't want the pressure of pitching in his hometown (he's from Park Ridge) and dealing with ticket requests, etc.

Not that it's a big deal seeing as the Cubs bullpen is pretty much set.

Too late Rollins looks to be done to LA.
