Gibson, who navigated the postgame locker room on crutches and in a walking boot, has sprained the same ankle three times dating back to last season’s playoffs.

“It’s just the same lingering injury,” Gibson said. “I keep trying to play through it, try and be there for my teammates. I pushed through a whole summer of trying to rehab the same ankle and it just keeps flaring up. I just keep having these little bum ankle turns. I’m just frustrated.

“I have to be patient. Just talking to Derrick, talking to the guys, I have to stop trying to run back out there and trying to play through these things. We’ve got a long season, but the dog in me wants to be out there and play. I have to learn from this.”

Guaraunteed to leave the circus trip still above .500. Hopefully we can win more because neither of the last 3 teams on the trip are that good.

sulleys "only my teams" scenario. Butler continues to dominate, wins MVP, Bulls forced to sign him to Derrick Rose exception max.

i can't believe he's averaging over 20 points a game while shooting 50%

Sounds like even Thibs has had enough:

Asked whether Rose looked fatigued in the second half of Monday's game, something the 26-year-old discussed before Monday's shootaround in regard to his muscle recovery after missing more than a week, Thibodeau chafed.

"Oh I don't know. Jesus. He's got to get out there and play," Thibodeau said. "I thought he did a lot of good things. You could see he's not real comfortable with the ball yet, but that will come. When Derrick strings some games together, he's going to take off. He's got to go. That's the bottom line. He's got to go."

As is always the case with the Bulls, Rose's lingering status continues to hover over everything they do. Thibodeau is optimistic that both Rose and Gasol will be able to play against the Nuggets in the back end of the back-to-back.

"I would hope so," Thibodeau said. "Jeez. We'll see [Tuesday], I guess."

I don't know if that was a good move by Thibs. Rose might get pissed and sit out to spite him.

I'm probably just sick of Rose's [expletive], but I'm fine with it. Thibs wouldn't be human if he weren't at least a little annoyed at this saga, especially when he coaches guys like Taj and Noah who will go out there and play almost no matter what.

Thibs has been nothing but supportive, IIRC. If this is his first "outburst" its hard to blame him.

I think what really frustrates him is how there have been a couple of games this year where Rose is supposedly good to go, only for him to rule himself out 15 minutes prior to tipoff. Based on Thibs relationship with management, I'm a little surprised he's waited this long to publically say something about what's been going on with Rose this year. The question that started the whole "outburst" yesterday had to do with Rose being fatigued when he only played in 24 minutes. I don't really blame Thibs for being upset about the whole situation.
