This could get very ugly, very fast for the Vols.

Heard Chattanooga had six sacks against UT. Saturday could definitely be a long day for their QB.

Ole Miss fans absolutely aren't overlooking this game though. Tennessee is young but definitely talented. I'm nervous.

The offensive line hasn't gotten a bit better from the start of the season to today - which is one of my biggest concerns about the coaching staff. There's talent on the line, but it's been pretty dreadful all year and couldn't even look average against UTC. They're young and inexperienced, but that shouldn't have happened.

I think Tennessee can put together a few drives here and there, but it'll have to happen via big plays on short, quick throws because there's no way the line can hold up against Ole Miss' front. There is talent on the outside and in the backfield, though, so if Worley can ever get some time, they can make plays. It's possible LT Jacob Gilliam could be back for the game, though, and that would be helpful as it'd push Kyler Kerbyson to his more natural LG position.

I could see a somewhat competitive game at halftime that turns into a bloodbath in the second half when Worley gets knocked out of the game with an injury or the Miss d-linemen just start spending more time in the UT backfield.

Man, the Sagarin predictor ratings are a bit hilarious this week.

Is he broken?

No, I think that statistically the SEC West teams have been that good, but if the polls looked like that, everyone would basically quit on college football. 7 of the top 11 in the SEC, with the other 4 being Oklahoma, Baylor, TCU and Oregon.

Anyone have any opinion on Willie Fritz as a potential head coach candidate for KU? Remember, we're not pulling an existing coach from a P5 conference. Right now the candidates seem to be:

Ed Warinner: Co-OC/OL coach at tOSU

David Beaty: WR coach aTm

Tim Beck: OC + QB coach at Neb (no thank you)

Clint Bowen:our current DC (no thank you)

Willie Fritz: HC Georgia Southern

Pat Narduzzi: DC Michigan State

Jim Chaney: OC + QB coach Arkansas

Scott Frost: Co-OC and QB coach at Oregon

Josh Heupel: Co-OC and QB coach at OU (no thank you)

Mike Norvell: OC + QB coach at Arizona State

Matt Wells: HC at Utah State

I've bolded the ones who I think will be in the first tier. But that's just me guessing.

Maybe Ruffin McNeil, but I don't think he'd come.

Some talk of Jerry Kill, but his buyout is crazy, and I don't know why he'd leave MINN

Narduzzi could probably get a better job at this rate, right? He's by far the best on that list.

He's already passed on comparable (better?) jobs, but a credible source said he'd be interested in KU.

It probably depends on if he wants to become a HC now and what jobs become available. I doubt he'd be a candidate for Michigan. Seems like he'd be a more logical fit in the Big 10. Not sure if anything will open up there, though. Purdue? UI?

He's probably my favorite choice, though I think he's a longshot.

Thoughts on Fritz?

He has been a winner (depending on how much you value that). Unknown as far as a recruiter. Also don't know how well the option will translate in the P5.

Jim Chaney: OC + QB coach Arkansas

Jim Chaney's a terrific coach. Very smart offensive mind and the players really rallied around him after Dooley was ousted at Tennessee. The credit is usually given to him for Jonathon Crompton going from an embarrassment at QB to a really solid player his final year. He has NFL experience too, so that'd be an extra draw.

Narduzzi may be the best on the list, but Chaney's not a guy to overlook. I hated when UT let him go.

Dew, any bowl projection for Tennessee yet? I have them pegged for Birmingham.

I honestly don't think we'll make one. We'd have to beat 2 out of 3 of Missouri/Kentucky/South Carolina and I'm just not sure we can do that. My guess is that we'll beat 1 of the 3 and finish 5-7 for the third year in a row.

Ron Prince's 3 years at KSU look like Saban at Bama compared to what we've had since Mangino left.
