ND is still in good shape if they run the table from here.

With ESPN running the playoff, I wouldn't bet on it. That being said, there aren't any great teams, so maybe enough will lose so that they'll have no choice.

Right call on the OPI. Prosise totally blew it. He didn't have to make the contact so obvious.

come on man, ESPN isn't going to conspire to keep ND out. If they get blown out here, sure. They won't drop much in the polls at all.

You're probably right, I'm just pissed (and a few beers deep) and sick of hearing about how ND was 'David' in this game. There was never a doubt in my mind this game was going to be competitive. FSU came in with a resume almost identical to ND's and people overreacted to the UNC trap game last week. Thank God there's a bye next week.

either Winston's team was going to lose or ND was going to lose, so tonight was a win-win for me.

I really don't get the equal hate for a Team with a rapist vs a team with annoying fans

Well, I was rooting for ND--first time ever. I guess I was just saying I was able to find a bright side in the loss.

UK played a bad game, just don't match up well against Louisiana State. They run the ball well and strong against the pass. The talent between East and West is overwhelming. There's still a significant talent difference.

I mean they're like super annoying though. Especially the ones that actually attended ND.

I find the ones who didn't attend ND to be more annoying. Then again, I live in South Bend which is just an annoying city to begin with.

I mean at the very least every college team has someone guilty of sexual assault if not rape right.

I wouldn't say every, but probably for any single one

RIP florida. RIP muschamp.

For those smart enough not to watch this game, a point of reference. Mizzou has 97 yards of offense. They lead 42-0 near the end of the 3rd quarter.

EDIT: In case that's a bit too subtle, Mizzou has -2 yards of offense in this 3rd quarter, and 22 points.

This is mind boggling. Missouri had 7 first downs, 119 total yards, averaged 1.1 yards per pass (20 passing yards) and had 11 penalties yet scored 42 points because Florida had 6 turnovers (two of which were returned for TDs) and allowed both a kick return and punt return for a TD.

College Football Reference has a play index going back to 2000. Since then there have only been 9 other instances of a team scoring at least 30 points while gaining less than 200. Closest one is this game between Arizona State and UCLA in 2008. Arizona State won 34-9 despite gaining only 122 yards because they had three pick-6's and a fumble return for a TD. In that span the previous most points scored for a team with less than 120 yards was 21, by FSU in 2011 against Florida.

Or some of us hate Notre Dame because of what happened to Lizzy Seeberg. Notre Dame probably shouldn't act like they're morally superior.

Seriously? Or are you using the death of a teen girl to get more ammo on a college football team you don't particularly like and whose fans you find annoying?

I think we've covered that topic thoroughly before.

Did they ever say definitively if it was called on 7 or 20?

It was originally announced as being on Fuller (7), but the official box score evidently lists it as being on Prosise (20), which makes more sense.

Watching the replay, Prosise was probably being held as much as he was initiating contact, but tough to expect an official to catch the distinction in the heat of the moment.

That was exactly my take. It looked to me like he was being held as much on the inside as he was just blocking the defender. That's a tough call to have cost you the game.

I honestly don't think either one of the QBs will be any good in the NFL. Winston just has too much of that panic mode in him to be any good.

Yes, seriously. I also don't like Jameis Winston, Ben Rotlisberger, Ray Lewis, etc. for similar reasons. There are some things more important than sports.

Not sure why you'd think I'd hate Notre Dame when I live 2000 miles away and don't run into too many of their fans here.

Kevin Sumlin and his staff are stealing money every time they cash a paycheck. This is embarrassing.

lol. sports fans are the worst.

Yeah, that's dumb.

On the other side, didn't someone say he was the best coach in the country pre season? How's that working out for ya?

Are you claiming I said that?

I believe that was Ryne Ween, but I'm not sure.

Yes I said it. I had no idea South Carolina was bad. I overreacted and I apologize.

I think South Carolina being this bad has surprised everybody. Heck, I had them winning the east going away.

I probably shouldn't have crowned Sumlin after one game in the post manziel era. But yea, gamecocks hadn't lost at home in 4 years so I was sure Sumlin was a sorcerer, but as it turns out they are a mess of a defense and Kentucky torched them.

Sorry then. But a lot of people around here like to parade the tragedy around to embarrass ND when it's a far from cut and dry situation.

We have a famous [expletive] local radio guy who tweeted out the girls name a bunch of times during the game last night.

Maybe the campus police were incompetent in not responding to the case more quickly, but the football program didn't do anything wrong and what the player was accused of was being a creep relatively benign compared to jameis accusations.

That said, Brian Kelly was negligent in the death of that freshman camera man. So I'm surprised people don't go straight for that because there real isn't an argument there.

I would suggest dropping the subject, because anyone that wants to know about it already does and has made their judgment on it.
