So those of us with tickets for the regular start can go in and see this? So weird.

That's how it used to be with most double headers, I'm pretty sure

Yeah, but now two people can hold valid tickets for the same seat.

What? How?

Ticketholders for both Tuesday’s suspended game and Thursday’s game may attend both games tomorrow. Details coming on #Cubs.com soon.

Doesn't sound like there's any precedence but it does seem fair.

Sucks for Wada.

If the Cubs keep the lead until the end of the game, then the W is determined by scorekeeper's discretion right? Can Wada still get the W in that case?

EDIT: N/m, Wada pitched 5 innings so he's eligible for the win. Not sure why you said it sucks for Wada now....

He lost his CG SO.

lol, the Giants protest asked for a forfeit in their favor too. Screw them, I hope we put up 9 runs in the bottom of the 5th.

Yeah, protesting for a suspension is completely reasonable, but trying to get a forfeit? I thought there was nothing that would make me want the Dodgers to win the division, but the Giants found a way.

Well, I'm pretty sure that however they arrange that logistically, two people won't hold valid tickets to the same seats.

I'd guess that the people who have tickets to Thursday's game will get their ticket, and the people who come back from last night's game will get an unsold seat relatively close to where the seat they had is. There must be a ton available for them to even offer this.

Eh, not sure he wanted a CG SO like that anyways.

Rizzo on Giants winning protest: "I think it would be better if I not comment on that."

Cubs management was oddly sympathetic to the Giants cause on this one. I wonder how much that pisses off the players.

Talk abut strange, Hoyer admitted the Cubs advocated for the Giants before and during the protest.

Hoyer says the problem "was caused by our organization", but Julian Green blames it on a freak occurrence of a sudden rainstorm that wasn't in anybody's forecast. I don't get why Hoyer is so willing to talk favorably about the ruling and place the blame on the organization. Seems like a pretty obvious time for a "we'll respect the decision" non-response. You are either calling out your facilities people (while trying to pretend you are not) or welcoming an opportunity to give back a win.

They're attempting to tank for a higher draft pick while maintaining the appearance of being nice guys. If you think the Cubs would have gone to these lengths on behalf of the Giants if the Cubs were 2 games out of the Wild Card, I don't know what to tell you.

I'm not sure why that is your interpretation of what I was saying. What the hell?

My point is I don't get why they are so openly supportive of the decision. Why say anything at all?

Not directed to you, just a general comment. My thoughts are they are so vocal just to build some "goodwill" with the other teams, MLB, and the press. Not necessary and a bit over the top, but whatever.

@brucemiles2112 Fun-case scenario: Game starts, gets rained out and #Cubs win rain-shortened game --twice!

I want this to happen. A lot.

Posted

Cubs should play with 6 or 7 guys on the field which would build goodwill with other organizations.

Well really I'm as blasé as everyone else. More Baez this way.

I was completely with the Giants on this, but asking for a forfeit? Suck it on that one.

Yeah I kinda felt bad for the Giants on Tuesday, but wanting a forfeit when the Cubs were both winning and asking that the game be suspended themselves is some bull [expletive].

Giants protest again because the game still should've been finished on Tuesday. Cubs support it again to get another chance at a loss.

Does the game have to actually restart to get re-rained out?

This is a really good question, but my guess it that it would need to be "resumed" before it could be considered an official game.
