I don't know if any of it was shown on tv, but the grounds crew took about 15 minutes to get the infield covered. They seemingly had no idea what they were doing. Now they are trying to figure out how to take it off. Good times...

And the infield is a mess... It might be awhile before this game resumes, if at all.

The tarp got stuck and they couldn't pull it any further, so after a long struggle they took it back off and got it on the second time. Then when they removed the tarp, they dumped a ton of water into shallow right field, much of which ran right back onto the infield dirt.

 

I imagine they will get a stern talking to after this performance.

Definitely the worst tarp job I have ever seen. It was like 8 dudes and then 5 minutes later 10 more came out.

 

This game would have been called for sure had the Cubs not felt obligated to get the field right for their own PR sake.

the issue seems to be that there's no rule that would allow for that at all. the only options are play tonight or the cubs win.
