I thought there was a precedent for that....so you can only resume a game in a LATER series?

btw this is when having friends that are alcoholics and sneak flasks into events are the best kind of friends to have. just saying.

Holy [expletive], thank you. I'm rifling off on Twitter if anyone is interested in free [expletive] entertainment.

Youtube comments generally are terrible, but this one made me chuckle:

I am a Cubs fan, and they've put this tarp on numerous times flawlessly. You CAN'T tell me they didn't botch that on purpose to hopefully call the game (it would be an official game as they were up 2-0 in the 5th)

May have been asked/answered already, but why can't this game just be "suspended" and played tomorrow afternoon since it's the first of 3 games and tomorrows game isn't starting until 7pm?

Unless, obviously, this is a diabolical FU by PTR to the rooftops to have a few games down the stretch play into the wee hours of the night, on week nights, before renovations start.

No MLB rule allows for that.

I've always wondered why the tarp has to be in one gigantic piece that can be easily weighed down by rain. Why can't it be a few smaller pieces that cover up just the dirt? Each piece will be lighter and more manageable.

I assume it is at least partially because smaller tarps would be more susceptible to wind and harder to keep in place, whereas the weight of a large tarp ensures that it stays where they put it. I can just picture small tarps blowing through the air like what usually happens when I attempt to rake my leaves onto one.
